Yeah I was talking to him on xfire and apparently my montage looked like xbox, despite the look of every gun and texture, the chat, the scoreboard, the lead, the way the crosshair moved, the players names (bound to know atleast 1 person), and the fact that the video was called halo pc god on google, which is where he saw it.

Yes, I said that. I am wrong, yay for me.

It's the way one of the characters went invisible, I had only seen it on xbox. Aparently my old video card is screwed.

And, uh, no, I didn't see it on google. I downloaded it off the forums.

Regardless, my friend makes videos of him playing both. He's better at xbox, that's besides the point.

My bad. We'll see how I do.

Yes it pretty much has died. I moved on to the COD series, BF series, and of course anything id makes.

Not only have the aimbots made Halo completely stupid but the overzealous admins and wireframe/wallhacks took what life it had left away. Almost everyone I saw in my final Halo days had some type of hack/bot/mod running on there box to give them that extra bit. Didn't seem possible that someone could get 100 kills and the next closest player was at 20. It became very bad and as of now I could only imagine it is completely crap. I even had someone I hadn't heard from in two years xfire me the other day to see if I would ring for his Halo team and he would supply the aimbot. WOW!

After playing the PC and CE versions for a good two years I think I definitely knew how bad things got. It wasn't hard to put three shots in someone's head and get a kill with a 16 ping but when the 60 to 100 ping guys never miss then it became flat out stupid. And when I say never miss I mean it. Most people I remember who were the "leet" players all went the way of the banstick...when they got caught aimbotting a cloaked player from the other side of the map. Oops! Yet there is no way to track a player...no way to stop the cheats...and no way I would play it again. I have serious doubts about playing Halo 2 because I am sure there will be no way to stop the cheats again. At least in games like BF 2142 the aimbot is more obvious then ever since you can't spray and pray like other games. If someone does and every shot is a kill...meheh!

Good luck on trying to be the best in a game you are never sure if who beat you cheated or not. Better just play at lan parties or competitions that way you can see the others guys screen...and what hack he is running.

I just want to say that not all players who get lucky and pull off consistent 3SKs and headshots cheat.

Yeah, I blame Gearbox for messing up certain textures in the port to PC. The teleporter on the Xbox and the one on PC are completely different, and the Jackals' shields aren't as visually attractive as they should be, and things aren't as shiny (such as the assault rifle) as on the Xbox. Certain graphics card do support the shaders and such which shows the active camo effect like on the Xbox.

I don't think Halo PC is dead, because there are still HUNDREDS of servers running. But I think that the community and spirit of the game is dead. Hacks every ware, Heavy Weapon servers, team killing -blam!-tards, the list goes on and on. Halo PC won't die until Halo 2 Vista comes out, but when it takes me 15 minutes to find a server without all rocket launchers or all tanks, then you know there's something wrong.

They exist, however, they just record your screen and then have to get checked. I don't know if more exist or not.

Well, for me, encountering real actual aimbotters is thankfully pretty rare, mostly cause I hang around Clan servers, who I know dont put up with that crap. But yeah, Gearbox could have done a better job porting Halo to PC, especially with the textures. Like how bland the assualt rifle looks. I have a skin on mine though, so it makes it look identical to the xbox shiney AR version. That skin also affects the 1st person flag pole, so thats more shiney too.

Why complain about cheaters in halo? There are cheaters everywhere in every game. Atleast the aimbot for halo and the bluewalls aren't perfect. Have you ever use a counter strike hack? For 1.6 is was ridiculous and you can easily pick them up for source. VAC means nothing.

BTW there have been anticheats for the aimbot, but everytime keihatsu makes one, snafu makes another aimbot.

What Nessy said. I've seen people use aimbots, and trust me, they don't help you aim for crap. In fact, I think they just make your aim worse. I bet I could get more kills without an aimbot than with one.

I've seen a couple people using the OGC Aimbot. I tried it myself once a long time ago and it really sucks. It just locks the crosshair to something like the terrain or building and automatically starts shooting. Pretty damn useless.

Most people don't actually ban you cos they ACTUALLY think you're aimbotting. They just use the aimbot excuse to get rid of a really good player who's killing them all the time...

I've used the OGC aimbot too. its completely crap. I was on blue team and it locked on to one of those colored lights on the ground and just started shooting. Total waste of my time trying it. And also I believe Bitterbanana is trying to come up with an anti-aimbot hack thing. Though in theory if aimbotters used one of those and an aimbot, they would be impervious to other aimbot users they encounter...

Well, I've taken on 4 people so far, and only Nessy's beaten me. I've pwned everyone else.

Go figure.

I might rematch him sometime, he was more than worth the match.

I just think you should know, Nessy was playing with a controller when he faced you... so yeah...

And?

If I had a controller, I would use it. It would not only get me more used to playing on an XBOX (which I don't have), but it would improve my skills overall. I often change my mouse sensitivity so that I can test how I am in different settings.

But yes, it does make me think, and I would like to rematch him sometime. I've gotten a LOT better at leading.

Anyways, I'll talk to you on XFire noobnoobnoob. I'd like to play a US dedi, though I don't have any... I've never been in a clan, I don't plan on it either.

There are just soo many bad players on Halo PC, even after a couple of years, it is really sad.

I don't think It is sad, I think it is great. Halo PC is the only game to have such a tremendously huge gap between the pro players and the noobs. It takes way longer to master than any other FPS game.

In Counter-Strike, if you run into a room and 3 people are there, no matter how good you are, you are dead, or if someone sprays at you, with any luck, you are dead. Headshot just like that. In halo PC no spray guns give lucky headshots, and headshots with the sniper come from practice.

In Games like UT or Q3, the pros can certainly last longer than in CSS, but still 1sks from railguns or gigantic explosions from anywhere means that pros can still be taken down by noobs with any luck.

I played a 2v2 yesterday against TUI on their server, we went 27-1 before they gave in, that doesn't happen in other games.

Halo PC is difficult, that is why there are so many noobs.

anyone who's played more than you has no life

anyone who's played less than you is a noob

you think this is unique to halo pc? hah.

play team hardcore; the only reason anyone ever wins [according to the jerks who play it] is because they had host. Even when i'm off host in the UK and destroying people i still hear "OMG HOST" every ten seconds. get over it, and ignore people. works a treat.
