Its called SLI ;) Is your current Card SLI capable? If not then you can get two exact same SLI cards. I haven't ever ran SLI but my friends have and it boosts graphics speeds greatly.

yes it is sli supported.
so that would technicaly turn my 256mb 128bit vid card, into a 512mb 256bit card?
also thats really cool to know becuase my friend has the same exact card and hes selling it for really cheap. =]]

errm..

Your 256mb card + 256mb card = (2) 256mb card, but you have 512mb of GDDR Ram. You cannot mix a 256mb card with a 128mb card... you can also not mix a 7600GT with a 7800GT.

I wouldn't recommend going SLI for you, due to your (most likely) 1280x1024 resolution. And even if you did, your CPU would bottleneck the video cards, meaning they could not run as fast as they can, because you have a slow CPU.

Most of the PC issues posted here are the result of PEBKAC.

No, the real issue behind SLI is that it doesn't work like most people think. SLI only gives you 1.5 times the performance of the single card. Sometimes that can be achieved through simple overclocking. The RAM is shared though, and allows for more high-res stuff.

Also, you can only SLI the same video card.

Hi, I have a friend that has a dual card config. and he is very pleased with the performance of them! He has a Nvidia GeForce 7950 GX2 (which is two PCI-e graphics cards that come put together from the Factory, and they are sleek - very very FAST!!!! it generally loads high graphics games in about 5 to 12 seconds!!!!!

Also are your card slots in your computer PCI, AGP or PCI-e and I know this is a lame question but some computers now a days come with Integrated Graphics Cards as high as 7800's, is yours integrated?

Ignore this.

1. you only need one PCI-e slot for a GX2

2. the geforce 8800 gtx is a much better deal at 50 dollars more and even the 880gts is a better deal at 100 less than the GX2.

Also remember, when running SLI/Crossfire, even though there are two video cards, the effective video ram isn't doubled. Both video cards need to keep every texture in their own frame buffers, so it's as if the RAM amount is the same.

You said that the GeForce 7950 was two videocards, and static simply just stated that you only needed one PCI-E slot.

Trust static, he knows wtf he's talking about.
