Crackdown+Halo3= boosted sales / Xbox360+Halo3=more 360s Sold/ Already have a 360 + Already planning on buying Crackdown= Dont really care!

lol, I dont really care ever if microsoft boost there sales, and I to have a 360 but i have no real intention on getting crack down. If i dont play the beta that dosent mean i'm not a 'real fan' of halo I think halo is awsome and i can wait for halo 3's reliese. However it would be cool to think that I had some sort of input into the development of the game if i did end up playing the beta it and it would be awosme to exprieance the game early before relise, but hay as I said if i have to I can wait.

i will sleep outside ebgames... :)
I would give my left......leg.....if I could have it right now! I wouldnt put it past some people who would put more than one copy of crackdown on hold to increase there chances of getting a marked Halo3 beta copy. I personally have five on hold....no just kidding. I cant wait for Feb. to start playing where we will actually be playing for something.... it will be better than Achievements.

Well I have a few points to make.

This is absolutely unprecedented in the console world and it may be a precursor to whats to come on this generation of consoles (360, ps3, wii). Beta testing for games is primarily used in the PC domain, and even there, the field chosen to test is very small. The simple fact that, I believe, Bungie has twisted microsofts arm enough to let nearly 50,000 people participate in a BETA of argueably the most anticipated game of ALL TIME, is a testiment to how much Bungie appreciates their Halo following. Public beta testing on console games is almost unheard of, but public beta testing at this magnitude on PC or otherwise is completely ridiculous. There is NO REASON why bungie would need to recruit even more than 500 people to beta test, besides the fact that they want their loyal halo fans a once in a lifetime chance to participate in this highly anticipated title. If you think of it this way, the console world has many many fewer variables than the PC world, as all 360 machines are built with stock hardware and come with preinstalled software, whereas PC's come in all different flavors. Sure, 50,000 opinions can make for a fantastic game, but microsoft also knows it may loose customers from halo 2 because this game is going to be much different. I think microsoft said, ok we'll give you one more way to include people in this beta test, but it must give people the incentive to buy one of our products. There are still 2 other ways that you can get in for free (Which I think will account for about 25,000 of the 50,000 slots) but for if those don't work out for you, theres one more for sure way to get in.

Thanks bungie for even allowing Halo fans the opportunity to try out Halo 3.

edit* One more thing

The way that Bungie and Microsoft are calling this a 'beta' version of the game speaks volumes for the depth of gameplay. Prepare to be blown away, this game is going to be immense.

Yes I totally agree. took the words right from my fingers. I'm just going to do what I can to be apart of the beta. I do have a job and a family to take care of first. I'm still waiting to get my XBL account up agin. I ve had it sence before the launch of Halo2 but sometimes Stuff happens! word of advise to all the single people out there. find a spouse that will support your gaming "Hobby". (not a "Habbit") lol

I think we are missing a valid point here in bungies defence. They have nothing to do with the marketing scheme of things here. There is alot more people involved in this than just the people at bungie or microsoft.

A witty signature you say ! ? well at the moment i have nothing witty that springs to mind, so sory..................nope still nothing.......

One thing that has got me thinking is that off the new real time reflections in the chiefs visor (something orriginally planned for halo 2 but the orginal xbox hardware just could not pull it off) think off the potentual that sort graphical detail could have for fan made content or even some comedy moments in redvsblue, for instance a stand off with two spartems one reloading his gun is reflected in the others visor ! or a battle seen reflected on the visor could create a cool cinimatic moment.

well i look at it as paying $60.00 for the beta that comes with Crackdown instead of Crackdown that comes with a beta.

What will suck is those who are just buying crackdown for the beta and they dont get it. are the marked boxs Obviously marked with the beta? or is it hidden inside the package? there might be alot of fighting going on. The Crackdown launch might be worse than the Ps3, 360 launch put together.

I didn't bother with the xbox rubbish, decided to hold out for the playstation3! It's gonna be fantastic. But i'm concerned as i'm a european player. Will i be able to download and play the beta version on my playstation 3 being a european player.

P.S I heard the rumour the chief doesn't take his helmet off is cause it's george bush. Frozen in time for many centuries, our misunderstood 21st century world leader, has being thawed out to fight a new WMD. George Bush an unlikely yet intrepid hero.

Bungie if you are looking for script writers for the up and coming Halo 4, i am available. Resumes on request.

ZenoM0RPH, do you think the crackdown release could be as serious and dangerous as the arnold schwarzenegger movie "Jingle All The Way" without the hilarity or comical results. This is serious we have to stop this. There will be mass riots in the streets and arnie will be pounding heads for as many copies of crackdown he can find.

ZenoM0RPH you contact the pentagon and warn them, i'll contact George directly. I just hope they haven't frozen him yet, let's pray we're not all too late!

Yeah, awesome, cool. [/sarcasm]. Now, play this many hours, and go buy this game, and jump through the red hoop before the blue one.

Come on, time to give back to the fans of Halo. Who's already got the spots? Not the fans of Halo, for the most part.

So, go out and buy the crappy game, half Jap-Anime, half Grand theft auto-American. Pick one when you make a game like Crackdown, that thing is prime and ready to suck. But, $60 to be a beta for Halo 3? Might be worth it...
