On other sites you see that they have Member groups and ranks to know ho has more posts and who is more "In Charge". But those ones are simple and not original. Bungie should add these two features but put a little "Spice" to them. I was thinking ranks from the Halo Trilogy and for the groups like Ninja, Old Member: Been here for awhile, and others like that. I am not saying right now, but as a new feature when H3 ships. When Halo 3 does ship Bnet will get thousands of new members, wouldn't it be better to know and everyone else to know that your an "Elite" member when everyone else is "Grunt" ?! All I am sayins is this would be kick butt if Bungie released this because it is always good to know what you are and how good you are on the world's greatest game making Studio's website.

I am...whimsical today.

It could work, but it usually leads to an increase in spammers and Forum Whores. The join date is always viewable in the Member's Profile.
The current system of learning who the more experienced members of the community are has a lot to be said for it.

That's not a forum whore, that's my friend!

I don't understand. Do you mean having a rank system for the regular forums? If that's what you mean it can't happen, there are too many people to be given ranks.

Again, the problem is elitism. People will use their ranks to try and "control" other members, and it will probably just make people want to post more just for the sake of going up in rank. Perhaps a ninja could explain it better, as this really isn't my place to make predictions of the sort.

For Carnage, Apply Within.

I have returned from the Untamed Lands. MOAP is dead.

Ranks are stupid. Lets just compare out wangs to see who's more 1337. I'll go first...

Old school Bungie, born and raised,
In the Septagon is where I spend most of my days.
Relaxin', maxin', posting all cool,
Talking about Halo, life and some school.
Got in one little argument, and the mods got scared,
they said "You're gonna get banned and your member title'll be bare!"

I wouldn't mind two ranks... One for standard users, while another, mod-appointed rank for those who have contributed significantly to the community...

Perhaps keep "Member" as the basic...

Promotions could be given for threads that support the community, Number of posts (excluding those in "Flood" forums), or other community-involved actions.

Such a rank could be something like "Ninja-in-training" or "Prestigious Member"

Maybe......

The last thing this site needs is a rank structure to make other members think they are better than another.

Quick as a razor, sharp as a bullet.

Wouldn't mind...wouldny it be good if members were ranked on their activity

  • 01.05.2007 11:07 AM PDT

it could even turn into a game of favorites.

Ranked on activity alone (such as posts) wouldn't prove anything. If members were "graduated" by B.net mods, etc for things like constructiveness and general good behavior, it'd persuade other members to start acting more mature, contributing without flaming, and lessen the strife that goes around on many of these forums.

Now that you've taken the time to look at my sig, I actually regret not providing you with something more worthwhile.

All ranks would do is give me another reason to be mean to people. We don't need that happening.
