relesing the beta via crackdown is a bad idea because a bunch of 5 year olds are going to have their parents buy them the game and then you will have 5 year olds when YOU MUST BE 17 OR OLDER. also their will be a lot of people there just to play it and not leave feedback. i myself am 14 and will not be getting the beta due to my age. you need to have some sort of thing that will kick those two types of players out because i will be suffering until halo 3 comes seeing friends playing it.

I like to Rollick

I hope Microsoft was wary of the halo brand when they put the beta-invitations in crackdown. If it's not garbage then its fine, and judging by the Update Microsoft made a good choice.

It's just some self-promoting, at least it's not shameless self promoting ala ESPN

zluman00,

I think that so far there are only 2 methods to get in (although it sounds like they said 3.... halo3.com was the first, then halo 2 3 hour playing thing and crackdown are number 2. I believe they said there will be 3 methods to get in, and I don't think the pre-alpha for active members of the community counts as a "method" either. I'm pretty sure there is supposed to be 3 "methods" of entry, meaning they might announce something else later. My guess is that later on it will be more available, just at the beginning it will be tighter.

are you retarded

1.halo3.com after MNF comercial
2.buy specially marked crackdown
3.rule of three

number 2 and 3 arent together

If there's one thing I have learned in working with you, it's that there is always margin for error.
- RvB, Simmons to Griff.

On thing i noticed on the screen shots that we have been shown is that the health bar was up in the middle. I think that it may get in the way of seeing, say a sniper or anyone else that is above you on that position of the screen. It impedes seeing things that are far away and above you (a banshee or something else). I think it would be better to have it down and out of the way above the motion sensor like in Halo 2 because that part of the screen is generally facing the ground most of the time and what is behind it has already been seen. I generally ignore it until I hear the warning beep that my shield is low.

Will the beta be via only xbx live? or can we also play snipprts offline with friends who don't have live?

they should create an AK-47 variant. heres wut i think: AK-D 718 (AK-47 'future variant')::: semi/fully automatic. magazine fed. barrel ricoches back and forth in a dramatic recoil and anti recoil to fire 46mm rounds with accuracy. the right instrumentation and percussion in this weapon actually stabilizes the weapon while firing automatic, rather than lead it up. one clip holds 70 rounds. zoom capability of 3x. addable grenade launcher if desired. gun works under water and in zero-space areas.works when frozen due to matter-diffusion magnets. :: hows that bungie?

ive only heard of crackdown once and never seen gameplay...i wonder how good it will be considering that frankie said it was awesome.

  • 01.06.2007 10:04 PM PDT

I have liked what I have seen with crackdown but being student money is an issue when it comes time to buy a game.
I really must get into this beta, the chance to run around looking for any glitches and helping to balance the multiplayer game play would be a dream.
I stayed up late into the night hitting F5 with the other Halo junkies the night before halo3.com launched and I hope that I will get in on my enlistment from there but more ways in for Canadians would be nice.

If worst comes to worst, I will buy one less textbook and use the money for crackdown.

Oh and if anyone from Bungie sees this: Please put in some partial nudity or obvious -blam!-ity hidden deep in the game as this will hopefully help stop parents from buying Halo3 for their young children. Violence graphic, for some reason, is now ok in the minds of parents. Time to step it up.

anyways, someone asked if Halo 3 is gonna be on the Xbox.
In my oppinion, its probably not going to be on the orginal Xbox, just because it won't be able to handle the graphics.

And don't worry dude, its not coming out for a while, you'll have time to get a 360

Bungie confirmed a long, long time ago that H3 would be 360 only.

On thing i noticed on the screen shots that we have been shown is that the health bar was up in the middle

Screenies? When id we get gameplay screenies? link please.

Frankie said: we here at Bungie simply don’t know all the answers, but we can promise to share what we do know, as soon as we know it.

I'm calling bull****! They're with holding informartion. They know what the 'X' button does, but they wont tell us. ROFL! :P

I think it's great that you are opening the testing to the public somthing which I have never really heard of before, but then this is the most interest i have ever had in a game before. You have mentioned lots and lots for the north american market however I live in the UK and I am starting to feel a little left out. Entry via the Halo 3 website is only for america, crackdown (halo) so far looks like it is for the american market. Nothing is being said for the european market. It's starting to look like I am going to be only able to play the game perhaps when it is released in autum (fall). The reason I say this is that you are going to need 6 months Beta testing. Anyway please give us some info for the european market. I will stay loyal to the game and still keep checking the bungie web site for more litlle snipitts on the game. I'm just a little disappointed that the european market seems to be left out.

sounds like things are shaping up well in Halo 3 development Frankie

really looking foward to how the cinimatics in halo 3 play out ! Ive got a feeling that this is going to be the most cinimatic halo yet ! with some truly excellent voice work from the actors.

I don't have live yet so I'm still not sure wether i will get to play the beta, which is a shame.

cool update.

Which reminds me, the voice actor for Miranda Keyes is going to be different. That's disappointing, to say the least. Here's a link -
http://uk.tv.ign.com/articles/751/751036p4.html
GN TV: Halo 3 is coming next year, and I was curious how you came to be involved in that franchise?

Benz: I actually am only involved in Halo 2. I won't be involved in Halo 3.

IGN TV: Oh. That's what I get for trusting imdb too much.

Benz: No, they called recently and said I will not be… They're changing the voice. Am I allowed to say that?

IGN TV: You're allowed to say that! Because when it comes out, people are going to be mad, so they might as well know now.

Benz: Yeah, they're changing the voice. They're giving her an accent is what they said. I don't know if that's true. That's what I was told. I will not be involved in Halo 3.

Literalpete, I agree entirely. I live in the UK, too.

Other than the ones on Bungie's website, they can be found here: http://uk.media.xbox360.ign.com/media/734/734817/imgs_1.html
The pictures of the HUD were in the "Et tu, Brute?" Vidoc. Here's an example:
