Heres something for ppl who want to test your human-killing power before halo 2 comes out:
- Play T & R on Legendary
- Get to the gravity lift and make sure all marines are dead so that new ones come
- When reinforcments arrive run away to a far off turret
- preferably using a sniper rifle, snipe all the marines, but if there is no sniper rifle just try and kill them all from a distance
- Once they are all dead go to the lift and the cutscene should come on (with marines getting lifted ?!?!)
- When you drop into the ship after the cutscene, there will be a whole new regiment of very pi$$ed off marines
- Have fun trying to beat them since it is a checkpoint, and truly test your killing power! muahhahahahahahah

oh yah and just for those who haven't tried this before it is FRICKIN IMPOSSIBLE!!! The marines start churning out frag grenades and AR rounds like there is no tomorrow. Best to try this on co-op and just let one person take the heat.

I agree, its tough. For some odd reason the marines can kill you in a second flat if their pissed, but put an elite in front of them and it takes them forever.

I've stripped the shields off of an elite in legendary before but it completely drained my plasma pistol and my other weapon (SR) was out of ammo. I figured the three marines with me could take him though. After all, no shields and he flinches when the bullets hit him right? Wrong. The marines were still working on him by the time I rejoined the fight with a new gun, and one of them had died.

It doesn't take much to kill an elite without shields, especially at close range. If you have an AR, it's a point-and-click kill. Just point the rifle in the right direction and lean on the trigger.

And yet, those -blam!- can so easily kill you once you start giving them what you deserve. I think that the AI on legendary is seriously screwed up.

I wanna hear them scream.

that is pretty stupid, how sometimes a single Elite can hold off a full squad of marines, but you whack 2 of their pals and they waste you in 10 seconds flat

i think the reason the people at bungie made the marines tougher when you kill them is so that they can teach you a lesson. that lesson is... dont shoot the only black guy in the game!

it just seems to me that elites are tougher then the MC. I mean i've done tests on co-op with certain guns at a set range and then replicated it on the elites and believe me, the elites have uber shields!

Back in my day we didn't have no fancy lasers, and the hogs were indestructible!

That's the whole story, humans are far weaker, and if you've seen the TV ad you hear the elite leader going on about how he will continue to exterminate humans (btw isn't the shields on your armour stolen elite technology but not replicated as well).

if you guys read the books, the elites were usually a good 2 page battle. those things are SUPER strong and their shields are just like the chief's. they are smart and fast and don't pay too much attention to pain. the game really dumbs them down. and as for brutes? in the book the chief battled a brute and...if memory serves...the brute was stronger than the chief and i don't even think the chief beat him head on, i forget. point bieng that the chief had it a lot easier in the game than he had it in the books. in the books when needles exploded near marines...even single needles that got stuck in a tree or something...sent micro shards and did tons of damage. in the books when plasma went by your face you got bad burns. and in the book, the chief didn't even bother to take on hunters. they were practically indestructable. when they shot a spartan with thier feul rod guns the spartan was disintegrated. every fight with the aliens, except with the grunts, took every bit of the chief and his team's skill, strength, ingenuity, training, determination, and luck. the war in the book is a lot more bloody and horrible than anything in the game.

I have done this once before. It was quite challenging. I got up on top of the level on T&R, and then I sniped all the marines off from the gravity lift. So then I get up in the ship and the marines just went nuts. After a couple reverts I was finally able to kill all the marines, and all of the covenant. That was one of the hardest situations i have ever put myself in.
