It seems to me that about half of the mods. are relatively inactive (ex. Chris, Gandi, Goweb, Makaveli, Jerimiha). I haven't seen them since like 2004, (this is my second account for any of you picky enough to search my "Member Since" date).

I've been around these parts for almost eight years now...wow! Maybe I should be concerned about that...

It's good that bungie has mods wth character and stuff, but really, bungie should wake up/ The mods aren't doing their job adequately and even if they have "real" lives, why not either get more, or get mods that are on alot?

Why are mods who are VERY inactive be allowed to stay as mods? They don't do shiaza.
Quality over quantity...jsut because you don't see them doesn't mean they aren't there. Bungie recruits 5 or so moderators every year. Don't worry, they keep it fresh and recruit when necessary.

Dude, Ghandi and Ninja On Fire weren't even mods back then.

Dude, you can tell because of the unlocked thread and the nonblacklisted people.

Mos are barely on and their easy to is barely being handled.
Meh...if you think there's a problem, PM Achronos or someone who has the power to change this.

I was hardly even a member in 2004.

July 15, 2008... The day the timer stood still.

Wow, I'm almost as old as TGP member-wise. And don't say they're not doing their jobs. TGP stopped a near-disaster in the flood. Along with a bunch of "omG Wtfbgbfq riddlzz!" threads.

Mourne not your comrades who must dwell / too strong to strive -
Within each steel-bound coffin of a cell, / Buried alive;
But rather mourne the apathetic throng / The cowed, and the meek -
Who see the world’s great anguish and its wrong / And dare not speak.

All of the moderators except for two have logged in since the new year. 13 of them were on today. (I don't think Shishka still has moderator powers, but it's possible I'm wrong.)

Inactivity doesn't seem to be an issue. You could say that they need more, but that's different. And honestly, do we need to go over that again? It seems like we're beating a dead horse now. If more moderators are going to be added, Achronos will do it. If you want to have your say, PM him about it, like someone said. But threads about it never seem to go anywhere.

SPOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOON!

They're around, they just don't usually have much to add to our conversations.

And if you think they are not moderating well because you see rule-breaking threads, PM one and they'll take care of it. If you PM one who is probably on, they will get to it, I guarantee it. Its not their fault if they can't get to every thread in every forum all at once. Help them by being their eyes and ears.

I think they do a fine job. This forum is much more strictly moderated than a lot of other boards, and I think it shows. Spam and stupidity don't usually last too long around here. Look at the Underground, or the Optimatch. Locked threads and blacklists are everywhere. Some are more active than others, but there is usually always one or two on at any given time of the day.

Are people simply looking for problems with us to make threads about?

Ever think the problem might be with the community. Out of the two million plus members, I get regular help from one single user. Perhaps, instead of thinking more moderators will fix the issue, the members help out by not feeding trolls and reporting to us?

I played with Chris a few times on XBL the past week, but I can't talk on there seeing as my mic is broken. So, I know he's not dead :p I haven't seen Sigma or Maka in forever though.

Sigmas account was deleted a long time ago, so I doubt you will see him.

A mod doesn't need to post to be active; they just need to look around the forums. I really don't think we need more. The ones we have are doing a fine job. If it really starts to show that we need more mods, then I guarantee you that they will hire more. And for the mods that are inactive, why does it really matter? The forums still get moderated without them. That’s the beauty of having more than one mod.

(10:19:49 PM) Scruss: oh and pezza, i saw what you did to that cat
(10:20:17 PM) Pezza: You were the one with the video camera breathing heavily. Of course you saw.

Ninja On Fire is not really a moderator, hes here to take feedback from the community for future playlists.

Makaveli4life1 is, without a doubt, the least active moderator on the website. In my near se7en months of being here, I've seen one post from him, if I remember correctly.

Pezza, your text is too white! I need to make a hate-thread!

To Make Posts is Glorious

Some threads will get posts before others and it is the duty of the Leadership to ensure that posts are made that best suit the public welfare.

"heh"

Chris is on every day... you just need to know where to look.

  • 01.07.2007 1:18 AM PDT

I saw Chris post something recently, but like most people have already said they don't need to post as long as they're doing there job.

Now if I know JAF correctly he's gonna lock this thread.
