There are no skill requirements to create or join a clan. Some clans have special requirements which you must meet before joining.

and making friends on xbox live... Well I dont have XBL. But I would guess making friends on XBL would just be the same as making friends on any other online games. I doubt you will make any good friends on xbl, but people often tag others onto their friends list if they enjoy the same game types and are both at a similar skill and courtesy level. Thats my experience with other online games at least.

For Friends, how you get Friends can vary from game to game, but you retain your same friends list universally. Yes, it is easy. You can search up your friends gamertag, or see a list of people you recently played, and send them an invite.

The clan thing is Halo 2 specific, and making friends. All you do is select the players name during the time between games, or sometimes during, and send them a friend invite. If they accept you have a new friend.
