i was thinking. what if you had the choice to play an elite campain? you know, be an elite and fight the humans, in stead of the other way around. with all this new balancing stuff, i'm sure you could go through an entire elite campaign staying with covie weapons. whaddaya think?

Right now i wouldnt want it, I want my Halo2 on november 9th to put in a elite campaign would prolly take a looong time! but it could be downloadable content or an expansion pack, or maybe in halo 3, then again maybe never!

no, it would take away the whole feeling of the game. you are MC a sparten fighting a war against the covenant not the other way around... not even for one mission

I would commit suicude everytime I played it. An Elite campaign would be stupid. Mainly because you have so many freaking allies on your side, too little of enemies to shoot at, and Elites are just pumped up soldiers, not super soldiers like the Master Chief.

ok, never mind. i would try and explain it, but normally when i do, everyone is too thick-headed to understand what i'm trying to say.

as an expansion that could be really really good. Playing as an elite would allow the shield concept to continue and they could do some cool stuff with the covenant side of the story.
Just remember how frikkin awesome opposing force was on half life.

It is not a matter of thick headed, but rather, stubborn. Which most of the people are around here. (Trust me I know your pain on this stubborness) I get the idea and all, but I hate the Covenant with a passion. So much, that in real life I would enjoy choking the life out of any one of them. Plus playing as the enemy has never really been all that fun.......Colony Wars: Vengeance is an exception.

I don't see why you people are so uptight about playing as an elite.
Even if it was in the game, it would be an optional side mission, one that you could just decide not to play.
Besides, if you were an elite, there would be plenty to shoot at. There are a lot of marines on earth, being earth and all. Besides that is the return of the flood.

I think an elite sub-campaign would be great.
Better, it could be an unlockable or an easter-egg.

Why are you people so uptight about the fact that we disagree, we were asked for our opinions and we gave them. They just happened to be negative!

I'm just stating that I would commit suicide alot. Only because of my hatred of the Covenant. Never directly said that there should not be an Elite campaign or level.

I said no, but i see your point and I would play it if it came with it. I just think that time restrictions on bungie would mean that they would do a half arsed job on it, and that would suck. But as downloadable content or as an expansion set id go for it.

I would hate it because Elites are stuck up and won't use human weapons.

Well if they couldn't use human weapons then I'd play it. Because Covies using human equipment is -blam!-.

I really wouldn't want an Elite campaign. That would change the entire feel of the game, and end up alienating me and a whole lot of other Bungie fans. i.e.: That would be a dumb move for Bungie, and the only dumb move they've ever made was something that they couldn't have predicted. (The Myth II Uninstall fiasco.)

i put hell yes, but now reading all of ur messages, i would change my vote to hell no, but i cant do that, elite campaign would spoil it, istead of the familiarity of MC, u would be killing him, and the ODST's, and every1 in the UNSC forces, that would be wrong, although fun, but no!!!

remember that the AI is going to get a significant upgrade from halo 1 to halo 2.

Hikaru, you say you hate the covenant with a vengance. why? do you really suck that bad at halo? remember that Halo is just a video game. they can't do anything to harm you, your family, or your friends in real life. i hate the coves, yeah, but not so much that i think about slaughtering them in real life every waking moment of my life!

anyway, who bumped this back up? sure as hell wasn't me. i didn't even remember that i made this...

An elite campaign would be a waste. The only way it would be good if Bungie spent as much time on it as on MC campaign.

I don't think the elite campaign should ship with the game but i definently think it would be fun if there were some downloadable missions or something like that where you can play a campaign as an elite.

There are two main reasons I would not wish for an Elite campaign.

1.) I'd rather have a much longer campaign with the Master Chief.

2.) Halo is an immersive experience. You as a player are human, have a human psyche, speak the same language the marines do and your home is the Earth. Yet, you ARE the Master Chief. With all that you have in common with the Chief you can see yourself as the chief, empathize with his story and are impassioned to hate the Covenant for what they are.

As a side note, Hikaru should hate the Covenant, that's part of what immersion is all about. While he plays Hikaru is the Chief and his people are being massacred.

As a player you have nothing in common with an Elite, you're not going to understand a thing any of the other Covenant say and if they translate all the speech into English it loses its reality. You won't understand anything that's going on around you. The covenant have little concern for the sanctity of life that we do, have a completely different set of morals. The Covenant are alien and you cannot easily slip into their mindset.

So, while it might be interesting to play as "Yurg E'greet" the elite, a passionately devout zealot, it wouldn't have the power, nor the passion that the Chief engenders in his desperate fight to save his people.

Thank you Draerden. As for me hating the Covenant every waking moment of my life? I don't think about Halo that often. Sure, I think about it every day, but I do have a life ya know.
