You are thinking in terms of a console gamer yet again. There is no set framerate for PC games. The movement speed is pure gameplay and nothing technical and who knows, we will have to wait and see how the final game ends up being played by skilled people. And if you read the rest of the article he also mentions how much better aiming with the mouse is.

I then switched over to the PC controls, and wow, what a difference. Look sensitivity made no difference because the mouse allows you to look around as fast as you like. Aiming with the mouse is a nice bonus for precision, but I like the melee button much better on the 360 pad rather than on a keyboard or mouse button. So it's a trade-off.

pffffffffffft.... if the controls are the same, F should be melee, it's not that hard or is it?

good to see he knows that mouses are more accurate

The few, the proud, the leet.

The only noticeable difference on PC as opposed to Xbox 360 is that the resolution gets a boost, but not even that much.
Yeah, I wish I could call going from 320x240 to 1920x1200 a small boost.

Get a mouse with a thumb button or two....

GamePro may know a thing or two about games, but they're not exactly computer experts.

Hey, guess what, Zeph? Halo 2 is Halo 2. Play Marathon at 640 X 480 and then 1600 X 1200. It's still Marathon. You're still getting the same graphics, despite the improvement in resolution.

Don't get me wrong, here, I'm not saying that Oblivion looks the same whether it's at 640 X 480 or at 1900 X 1200, but you have to keep in mind that Halo 2 is a port of a two-year-old console title.

By the way, F key > B button for meleeing. I use the Boxer button layout on the 360 anyway, ha.

Whether you want to deny it, and you are, or not, resolution does make a big difference on how the game plays. You are just thinking of games in terms of graphics details which is not what resolution affects. A higher resolution is sort of like a natural AA setting inheritantly because each pixel gets rendered smaller in proportion to the rest of the picture leaving less room to make it stand out as a glaring fault of the sort grid systems computer monitors use.

I don't deny it, and I do agree whole-heartedly. I was just saying that Halo 2 is a different case. Resolution is in some cases, very important to gaming. Higher resolutions can allow players to see clearer, to see more than if they played at a lower resolution.

Professional gamers such as FATAL1TY would say that having that extra peripheal vision lets you spot your enemies at the corners of your eyes much faster. A clearer perspective of the game with higher resolutions is an important improvement, I think.
