CRT's have the fastest response time. But if your LCD is say, less than 6ms, it won't matter.

I've never heard of a widescreen CRT monitor...just stick with the LCD and use the CRT for hooking a 360 up to it or something.

1280x1024 is fine.

1600X1200 and up looks a bit better, but it's unnoticable.

That is not true, especially when you talk about desktop space.

Here we go...

CRT (Cathode ray tube(I think...))
Works by shooting a concentrated electron beam down a vacumed tube against a screen of phosphorous to create an image.
pros
Brighter
Faster response time.
Jaggies are less apparant.
Wider range of color.

Cons
More strain on eyes.
Bigger.

LCD (Liquid Crystal Display)

Works by using a current of electricity on small areas which makes the crystal in that area change in orientation, makeing light bounce off it differantly.

Pros

At highest resolution LCD provides sharpest quality.
Thinner.
More energy efficient.
Less strain on eyes.

Cons

Dead or stuck pixels
Disttorted image at some angles.
More fragile.

Correct my mistakes, if any, I'm tired, it's late and I typed this whole thing on my Wii, this is off the top of my head, so there may be some error.
