No its from the PC for sure, just look how polished the weapons now and the very very smooth framerate, it looks significantly a lot better then the Xbox version. I also think that their is HDR in the game now. I noticed that is a big contrast between dark and light areas.

I also noticed this. Also its seems that its much harder to aim with the controller this time around, assuming everyone in the videos were using it.

Also about the Auto-Aim thing, it seems that the amount will be slight like in Halo 1 not godly like in Halo 2.

Watching those videos made me want to kill myself. These people suck at Halo 2.

The silky smooth framerate, however, is something I'm looking forward to.

Of course, Crysis is why I'm getting Windows Vista, not Halo 2. :)

Just something I took from an article over CES:

Those looking for NVIDIA’s Vista 8800 GTX driver needn’t look any further than Microsoft’s booth at CES. All of the gaming machines at Microsoft’s booth were running nForce 680i motherboards with single GeForce 8800 GTXs, under Windows Vista. The machines were running Crysis and Halo 2, and actually ran reasonably well. Halo 2 was choppy at times and there were some visual bugs with Crysis, but the driver was working and is apparently stable.

article

I've also heard H2V being a bit choppy in other articles I've read.

Added a new video...

Besides the "rag doll" physics when you die, I think the overall physics of the game seem better, ie when you throw a gernade it looks alot better

to quote that last part here, the choppiness was due to the drivers for the 8800's not H2V itself.

Bungie doesn't see gamers any more. They see walking credit cards.

Uhm. Did anyone notice the guy had a speaker icon on the screen? Now I'm not sure on this but I thought H2V didn't support voice?

Interesting. They could be playing on Live Anywhere, or testing it out or something. Or maybe it's a new feature inbeded into the online play for those who have mics.

If you look at the Bungie.net Halo 2 Vista screens, in a few of them, you see the speaking icon.

I saw some contrast change in Beaver creek vid but I don't think it was hdr. More of like a change in bloom amount. I didn't see it at all in the sanctuary one.

Thats because Sanctuary doesn't have a whole lot of dark parts in it like Beaver Creek does. We saw this a few months back in the E3 video as well with that map ( I don't know the name. )

people will just plug in their 360 controllers then use their mouse so they get auto aim while using a mouse

thats not how it works...it would know if you used the controller or the mouse...it would just be default that the controller would get autoaim...as in it would detect if you were using the joysticks(x/y-axis), or at least i believe 'Hired Gun' would be smarter than that.

Congrats Snowy, made the news. Good on ya, doing Bungie's job for them. They obviously need the help.

Oh, and Omnios, nice Dune reference in your name. AI FTW.

first off you guys may yell at me, but I own an Xbox and halo2. So yes I am kinda breaking the rules but i also own halo 1 for the PC so its up to yiu guys. So anyway i agree with that the screens look great. But theframe rate thing kinda confused me. Ive owned halo 2 for two years and ive never had any framerate problems. Also Its alot harder to aim with a controller so auto aim will even things out not uneven (WORD?) it.

Shacknews posted that the auto aim will be the same from the Xbox version if you choose to use a 360 controller, which is some good news...

No, that is some extremely disappointing, upsetting, enraging news which is making my blood boil at the moment.

while less passionately, i agree with kim. this a disappointment. bungie is catering to the xbox crowd to the bitter end.

it will not be very difficult to trick the game into thinking you are using a controller, and get free auto aim. pitiful, truely pitiful.

meh, it really doesn't upset me too much, knowing that they could have put auto aim for the keyboard and mouse too.

Holy crap... those guys playing Beaver Creek really suck.....

This video brought something to mind for me, as it was the first mention of frag grenades I've seen in Halo 2 Vista.... Do you think the frags will be the same as the original crappo-nades in the Xbox release version, or tuned up to the 1.1 patch grenades?

Edit - Also, the water effects look super nice : )
Edit - Also, NEVER try to take down a guy with a sword by meleeing him.....
