Is there a way to beat the final run(with covenant and 2 wraith tanks) easy and effectively?

  • 01.13.2007 4:30 AM PDT

All I want for Halo 3...is that pump action shotgun thing from Halo: CE...I will then be happy.

Not quick...but effecient and easy.

Sit back with a Sniper Rifle...let the Flood engage the Covenant and duke it out. YOU pick off the Elites and Hunters that come later with your Sniper Rilfe...take out as many Covenant as possible.

When you run out of ammo go back and get the Rocket launcher...and use your Ghost to go down the right hand flank. Shoot the Wraith in the back a few times and then hide. Let the other Tank wander sligtly and then take that out from afar, shootin just in front of it to ensure it blow up with each shot.

Then...take your Ghost, and zoom towards the Banshees...jump out and make a run for them, climb in and fly as high as possible as quick as possible...so you avoid as much plasma fire as possible.

Once thats done..your home and dry.

Well, there are 2 ways.

* Grab the Sniper Rifle from the spot and bring up your Ghost to that hill overlooking that one battle(closest to where you came from). I would recommend waiting the Flood and Covenant to duke it out, Covenant usually win here, but I have seen the Flood win once. When the Covenant Wraith ran into a tree and accidentally blew itself up with its own shot. Leaving no tanks. Then, if the Covenant have won, snipe all the Elites down FIRST, going from the Commander Elite down to minor Elites. Then go for the Hunters, and if you still have ammo, kill out the Jackals. You're probably out by now, then just grap your Ghost and go to town with the turrets and Grunts. If there are any tanks left, use your Ghost or pound them with a Rocket Launcher, easy.

Caution: Active Camo Elites are wondering around the area, somewhere in the fight they'll find you, and you'll have to defend yourself, either get in the Ghost or keep a Shotgun with you, they're really hard to see in the dark and in the snow.

* The Alternative is to at the cave cache, just keep a Shotgun and Rocket Launcher. Head to the Fight, when the flood come out, go around to the back of the fight, stay in the rocks at the right so the Flood can't see you go by. Then, when your in the open with Covenant straight in front, get your Ghost behind the two rocks with the two Banshees in front. The Wraiths will continue to shoot at you, but you should be fine, once the Flood distracts them, hope in a Banshee and go straight up, swerving to avoid some fire.

Those are the only two easy methods I know.

In Soviet Russia, Stosh blames you!

I just use a Ghost to book it behind the Banshees, get into one when the tanks aren't looking and go up as fast as possible. The only problem you might have is that the Banshee can take some damage, and thus be more vulnerable to the Sentinels after.

Final Run? If my memory serves me correctly, which it does most of the time, that is the section in Two Betrayals, no? What could be easier than just riding a ghost to the banshees?

Hard to hide? You don't need to hide. It's so easy. Maybe not totally straightforward, but it's that easy. Just drive a Ghost past the battlefield. They couldn't possibly hit you while you're driving so fast. Get out and then get in the Banshee quickly, then fly away. You don't have to kill anything to get to the Banshee (but what fun is that? That's why I like to take my time to blast everything in the area before I take the Banshee, or better yet, blow them all up after getting in the Banshee).

Osmosis!

Hang back and make sure you don't let anything get behind you, make sure you clean out all your enemies as you go.

Alternatively, go on Co-op and you and your partner take alternating runs at the banshees until one of you get it.

Everything will be gone long before me. When the first living thing was born, I was here, waiting. When the last living thing dies, my job is finished. I'll put the chairs on the tables, turn out the lights and lock the universe behind me when I leave.

Why would you want to just fly past them? Fighting them is my favorite part of Halo!

The sniper has only a few ammo ammo left.

Have a Pistol and Shotty handy.

Run up the hill, immediately run to the left, make a mad dash for the closest tree. Draw your pistol, shoot at the 'Shee once, wait for it to bank towards you. Shoot your whole clip into it, pull out your shotty, and wait till it gets close...unload on it.

Then, move up to where the Flood spawn (left side, across from Covenant camp). They should all be gone, fighting Covenant now. Wait there for the battle to die down. hurl two plasma/frag grenades at the dead bodies, mopping up the rest. Hopefully, those will cause a chain reaction from some fallen grenades.

If you would rather the Flood come to you in this part without wasting grenades, remember - One pistol headshot will drop them, one shot to the arm will remove it. So, two shots to render it useless.

Then, move up and hop in the ghost. That section is done.

And it's your connection that's slower than turtle sex.

In........................................................Out .

I usually shoot out the wraiths and flip the Covenant shades (from afar of course), and snipe the Hunters, THEN I let them duke it out.

I always let them duke it out a little, because it's mighty amusing to see them fight. It always seems awkward when a hunter smacks a flood and the flood doesn't seem to even feel it.

But I agree with ODST27; I enjoy killing them all. There's easily enough ammunition and guns there to kill them all, as long as you use your head. The rockets should be used on the Wraiths, but unless you're really confident in being able to time and lead rockets, I would get closer to make sure they all hit home. Using a Ghost works, but sometimes you get hit by that impossibly aimed Wraith blast.

Can you not beat it?
