Here you will need this to help you get your foot out of the back of your throat, looks llike its in there pretty deep. And what is that on your face? Egg?! *hands Kim a washcloth*

Xfire adds more exclamation points to the end of your sentences.

How about you use Google, or maybe Wikipedia?

Who is "every one else" that "says it's sucks???????????!", by the way? Xfire pwns.

Go check the stickies up top, I wrote a guide to Xfire a while back, that should explain why everyone loves it so.

Most modern multiplayer games usually have a function in-game to track favorite servers, other players and whatnot, but since Halo lacks all that, Xfire has gained popularity by providing an alternate, third-party means to track friends and flag favorite servers.

I use Xfire, I think its a handy tool for joining games your friends are in and it even counts your gaming hours.

The bungie.net community is the halo PC community that is renowned for being unbelieveably sucky.

Ok, I'll admit I had some buggy stuff with XFire when I originally downloaded it, but now I think it's the tops. It also adds more exclamation points to the end of your sentences.

Xfire seems to have degraded in quality since I first got it (I.e. Half of the time it can't join or find servers that I can find in the pregame lobby, etc.), but I still use it. Why? Because it's the only IM app I've ever used that doesn't kill my PC.

And by the way, you spelled "Juggernaut" incorrectly.

Xfire doesnt work on my computer. And that makes me sad... :(

  • 01.14.2007 8:43 PM PDT

Xfire also uses up a crap load of resources... More than Windows Live Messenger. But it still pwns.

Yeah...every once in awhile you see a person that says they totally hate Xfire and that its the worst thing they ever saw, but in my opinion those are the people whos computers for some reason wont dl it. I think its pretty useful, the only problem i have is that while it adnoleges (I know thats wrong, but im lazy, OK?) that im playing Counter Strike, it wont let me do the in-game chat. Its also a great way to concoct strategies with your buddies on your team without letting everybody else in the server know. =)

Actually, with CounterStrike, I'm not sure if it's either CS itself, CS's built-in anti-cheat or just Xfire programed by the foresight of the creators, but I don't think it's supposed to work in CounterStrike in the first place.

Reason being is the same reason why many other third-party, in-the-background apps are banned during CounterStrike...when you die, you enter ghost mode and can therefore effectively relay the enemy's positions to your team mates.

VAC is the CSS "anti-cheat" system. That although works great with aimbots, i've found that 1/6 ppl there use some type of wall-hack or at least something else such as "ghosting". Ghosting is telling your buds the location of the enemy using Xfire. personally, i don't even go onto msn that much. i just use it to talk to my friends about up-coming projects or such, so i fail the need to talk to a certain friend when theres a bunch already in the server.

Only reason I use it is for gaming joining.

I've used MSN Messenger since the original beta and it kept getting better and better up until about version 6. Now I do my best to make sure I don't update it, unless I want to see even more adverts.

I have used xfire with halo pc since halo came out..actually i think xfire came out a few months later in december >_< can't remember the year. I used to have issues with xfire and halo years ago..i would have to log out when i wanted to play halo pc. I don't have that problem anymore but it still helps to have xfire off when your playing. Xfire like eats bandwidth or something.

QFT.

I only use Xfire to chat with b.net buddies, I always turn it off when I'm playing a game or something. Now that I think of it, I haven't even logged on in Xfire for a long time.

This seems quite odd. Around half the people you meet will say Xfire eats lots of bandwidth, and the other will say that it doesn't affect performance.

Of course, it doesn't matter if you've got a good PC.

Actually, Xfire never really eats too much of my FPS in-game, but I'm not taking the chance in the distant future, because that constant 60 FPS I've been getting lately saves my ass many times. I played about 10 rounds yesterday in a random Blood Gulch server, and with my L337 66-100 ping, and 60 FPS constant, I got the most kills in every one of those ten rounds. Headshots FTW!
