To challenge myslef and put together what ive learned about 3d modeling, as well as to learn more, im going to be making a cutscene on my idea on how it would open. I will do my best to do every part of the script i end up making for it, but becuase im a 1 man team its going to be tough to pull off that same umph halo has that bungie does so well. Im aiming for next gen qaulity graphics. Here is a rough draft of the script, its only the meat and potatoes right now, and its not completely done, eventually the chief will fight with a big ass covy monster.
Halo Cut-scene
Script
Admiral: Chief, do you mind telling me what the hell your doing on that ship?
Master Chief: Sir, finishing this fight………
The forerunner spacecraft loomed over the earth ominously, but it was the least of earth’s worries, the entire covenant fleet was there with it. Strangely, they didn’t attack. They could have glassed the earth in the blink of an eye, yet they hadn’t. Thousands of drop ships were now headed towards earth, so obviously the covenant had bigger plans for it. A couple thousand dropships passed by the giant forerunner spacecraft, and if they had been paying the least bit attention to it, they would have noticed the two bursts of plasma fire going off.
Chief had been scouring the giant forerunner structure for a long time, and hadn’t gotten anywhere. Without Cortana, he had almost no way to know where he was going. Somehow this ship seemed very familiar to him. It was oddly human…….or at least more so than any covenant structure he had seen. He had run into many small patrols on the ship. They were mostly grunts and jackals though, he hadn’t run into any elites or brutes. He didn’t expect to see any elites though, apparently the brutes had taken over their old position as the honor guard. As time progressed slight changes in the chief’s bio readings could be seen. His pulse was slowly increasing as time slipped by. His impatience slowly becoming frustration, and frustration to anger. Every minute he wasted scouring this godforsaken ship was one more minute earth lost before its impending destruction. The Chief’s heart stopped in his chest for a brief second. He had found what he was looking for.
-Meanwhile, in the chamber of the sacred icon……….
Keyes: Where is this Ark?
Guilty Spark: I am sorry, but that information was lost along with the creators. However there might be a construct still in existence that may help you find it. It is a library that contains any and all knowledge the creators had of the universe as well as a complete history of all known species in existence. All the data I have came from that library.
Arbiter: Oracle, where might we find this library?
Guilty Spark: According to my data, it was left on a planet in sector 5-0420a351. The creators instigated life on the planet, they gave it an atmosphere and other necessities needed for the prosperity of living creatures. The library needed a suitable environment because not only does it contain information, it also contains the genetic coding of every creature that died when the creators eradicated the flood.
Keyes: Show me
Guilty Spark: As you can see, this sector’s planets all revolve around this single star. There are a total of 9 planets, their distance from this central star determines the extremity of their environment. Since the star gives off extreme amounts of heat, the planets closest are extremely hot, and the ones farthest away are freezing. The planet with the library is here, neither too hot or cold, this planet was a most suitable choice for the location of the library. The data I have is far from current, so I do not know if the planet is even still in existence, it was wasn’t too far out of range of the initial eradication of the flood. What you are seeing here is the calculated kill zone of the rings constructed by the creators with the allowed error window of .0000000000000043%. That sector and the other two neighboring sectors make it just in range of the blast.
Keyes: Oh its definitely still there
Arbiter: How do you know?
Keyes: That planet is Earth, our home world
SGT. Johnson: -blam!-, if we know this, then those covenant bastards do too, that must be where they’re headed. *Looks at the arbiter* no offense big guy.
Arbiter: Then earth is where we must go, I will not let the prophets make fools out of our people, and have them believe they are marching to salvation…. When they are truly marching to their deaths…
- The bowels of the covenant holy city
Voice of the arbiter rings out on intercom ….”Then earth is where we must go………….”
Gravemind: [disembodied laugh] Yes, go and stop that bothersome prophet of yours………………. he is the only thing standing between you and my children [disembodied laugh]
Cortana: What makes you so sure you will even make it out of here alive? Ill blow you to bits before you can even make an effort to do so.
Gravemind: [disembodied laugh] Ah she is so funny isn’t she my children [freakish flood shrieks][disembodied laugh]……….. My child, children never disobey their parents....
One of Gravemind’s Tentacles quickly plunges into the hologram projector that Cortana is standing on.
-Cairo Station
Admiral: ….my god…..….. so this is how it ends
shots go off from an assault rifle that are then silenced by the unmistakable sound of plasma fire. Sparks start coming out of the door. Grunts of Brutes can be heard outside the reinforced doors. The admiral starts a broadcast throughout the station
Admiral: Men, I don’t know how many of you are left out there……..
-Back on the Forerunner spacecraft
The Chief pauses for a moment, he’s picking up something on com
Admiral: *static* …”I don’t know how many of you are left out there, but its been a dam honor to serve with you. I have one last request to make of you gentleman……… give these covenant bastards hell, because that’s all they’re gonna give our families, our wives, our children…….lets make one final stand….
The chief hears a loud bang, and then all he hears is static. He turns off the COM.
Master Chief: *whispers* I hear you sir
The Chief take a quick look at the earth, then at what he had spent hours looking for in this damned maze. A huge doorway stood infront of him. It wasn’t guarded, could it be a trap? If it was he would have to set off, there’s no time for recon. Chief brought out the plasma rifle he had taken from a group of grunts earlier and ran up to the gargantuan doors. He activated the doors, and they creeped open……….
-Covenant rebel fleet
Elite Guard: This way arbiter
The Arbiter, Commander Keyes, and Sergeant Johnson were aboard a Covenant Capitol ship that was now part of the Elite’s rebel fleet. They were being taken to the commander of their fleet.
Miranda heard murmurs coming from many of the elites as they passed by. Most pertained to the oracle, or the arbiter. They reached the room where the commander was, and the guard leading them activated the door and waved them in.
Elite In White Armor(EIWA): Ah, Arbiter, so good to see you again.
Arbiter: And you to commander
EIWA: Arbiter, you have saved our people from near destruction, we all owe our lives to you, and are now at your command
Arbiter: I am flattered commander, but it is the humans to whom you your gratitude, if it weren’t for them, we would have been decimated long ago. We owe them the same in return. The Prophet of Truth is headed for the humans home world earth, there is a library there that contains the information that will lead them to the ark, which will allow them to remote activate more of the sacred rings.
The commander turns to Miranda and Sergeant Johnson
EIWA: We owe our lives to you, and for that you will have our undying gratitude and service. We will follow you wherever you will us go.
SGT. Johnson: My god…… I never though I would see the day[laughs and lights up a cigar while Miranda Keyes gives orders to the many elites on the capitol ship]
Keyes: corporal, fire up the slip space drives, and set a course for earth double time.
Corporal Elite: Yes commander
Guilty Spark: O my, this is so exciting, [starts to hum and is glowing brightly] I cant wait to go over all the data in the library. It will take me years to process.[seems like he’s close to tears(happiness)]
SGT. Johnson: I think light bulb sprung a leak
Corporal Elite: Commander slipspace drives are charged and ready
Keyes: Very good Corporal, lets get going
The corporal fires the engines.
SGT. Johnson: ‘Aint nothin’ like home sweet home
-Forerunner Ship
The chief had definitely found what he was looking for, but not who he was looking for. He had found the central hub of the ship, the place where the Prophet of Truth SHOULD be. The room was empty, there was a gigantic monitor on the other end of the room. What Master chief saw was one of the most breathtaking views of earth he had ever seen. He quickly left his stupor as he saw another couple hundred covenant dropships fly toward earth. The doors slammed shut, and the chief found himself not standing on the solid ground anymore. The entire floor in the room was gone and in its place was an energy shield. The chief fell a couple hundred feet, it was a rough fall, but his armor could take it. He stood up and for the first time in a long time, he was left cold in his tracks. His radar was picking up a hostile only 20 feet behind him that was large enough to be 2 or 3 covenant dropships.
Chief’s training set in, he went to action. He checked his shield while looking for cover. He quickly found something to hide behind. His shields checked out at 100%. The chief looked up, then looked down at his plasma rifle.
Master Chief: I’m gonna need a bigger gun.
