There is a reason I am user ID 1 and my account creation date is before this site came online.

The 7th Column represents Bungie's fanclub. This was the basis of what are now called groups, back in the Old Hawtness (the previous version of B.net) they were called Chapters. Basically the 7th Column now represents the various groups of people that come on B.net to associate with other B.net people. Hence the ability to have Groups. They allow people to come online and talk to other people who share at least something in common: a devotion to Bungie. Then, with that foundation, you can search the Column and find groups that appeal to you, so then you have at least 2 things in common. And from there on it goes.

Basically the Column is Bungie's way to introduce other Bungie fans to other Bungie fans. If you wanted a short answer to what the 7th Column is: it's the Community.

Hope that helped.

~B.B.

You're soaking in it.

The Se7enth Column is Bungie's fanbase and community. It's the collection of dedicated fans, forums and chapters, all rolled into one clump, then deep-fried and wrapped in bacon.

Finger-lickin' good!

I've challenged my beliefs. What is the book about?

I find that this is usually untrue. If religious people honestly, diligently and intelligently challenged their beliefs, there would be no religious people.

It's also that weird thing that's in Headlong that towers over the water that kills you if you touch it :P

Well, we all know 7 ate 9.. So we could assume it ate 1-6 as well.

There never was columns 1-4, the whole phrase began with "the 5th column", then a novel called "The Sixth Column" so now you have the Se7enth Column.

Nationalist general Emilio Mola had to have Pfhor columns before he could have his fifth one.

I was refering to the phrase itself, not the story (interesting thought it is) behind it.

Ah, thanks for clearing up your point.

It is a real interesting story.
