What's a gracpics card? And yes, if you want to play Halo2PC then you have to upgrade to Vista, hence the term "Vista Exclusive". And what's Windows XP 2000? And yes, you'll most likely have to upgrade some hardware if you want to run Vista at peak efficiency. And yes, Vista does come in Compact Disc format.

First off, chances are your system is absolutely craptastic. Don't ask me how I know this. Tell us your specs to confirm my statement or not. You won't have to remove any of your hardware, but chances you'll have to upgrade to hell. Along with Vista.

It's called Halo 2 Vista, so wouldn't you logically have to upgrade to Vista? And since when does a PC game just have to just "tray-and-play"? Chances are you'll have to install it, just like any other game. I'm possibly wrong though, as there is a tray-and-play feature with Windows Vista games coming up I believe, in order to match the same speed and efficiency the way consoles can just pop in a disk and start playing immediately. But wtf do I know?

While the tray and play feature is convenient on a console, it's not so good if your disc gets scratched. I'd rather install the game and use a no-cd crack and put my disc somewhere safe, like in the jewel case packed up in a box so it won't get damaged. I've noticed back when I had my Xbox that even one or two small scratches can cause gameplay problems. Example: My copy of Mercenaries (fun game by the way) got one small scratch on it, and the game starting doing random things such as vehicles sinking into the ground and the map taking forever to render.

Agreed. I don't mind installing games, ever.

True, I remember when I had to wait a whole hour (exaggeration, more like 30 minutes) on front of my computer until my CoD2 installed...omg, 7 disks...

But then again, I don't mind it. You get the safe feeling, knowing that now that you've installed it, it's officialy yours, and no one else can borrow your PC game. Also, instead of using crudy, small spaced memory cards, we got the full hardrive to store all our saved game files, config files, account info, etc. The only thing that gets me sort of annoyed is that the whole game takes so much space...sheesh.

What do you have to do to get a program to play without puting in the CD?
I am always in the middle of so many games, I hate switching disks every time!

Werd. I think Valve games allows you to play without "traying" the game, but I'm not sure about other games.

You don't have to insert CDs to play Steam games, yes. But with other games you'll either have to download a cracked .exe file or make an image of the game disk. Cracking games is a legal gray spot, so I won't go into any more detail.

Creating an image file will take up too much space anyways. Downloading illegal .exe files are for immature 11 year old who can't buy the rated M game, because either he has no money, or Best Buy won't let a pathetic middle schooler buy a M rated game.

who says you have to be an ace to have fun?

Stupid parents let their stupid children play games that are rated M when they should be playing Big Birds Spelling Adventures

Also the AR is actually good in CQB now and no longer a glorified baseball bat.

For a cracked .exe(eg. no-cd fix) you need the whole game already, so the 11-year old thing is complete BS.

Well, a lot of people download .exe files for their legitimate games. It's a disservice to have to switch disks in this day and age, when the entire game is installed on your PC anyway.

Besides that factor.

What happened to Mr. "Don't be a dick" Ipjuunin?

I see you associate downloading "illegal" .exe files with software piracy. You also stereotype people who use "illegal" .exe's as 11 year olds. When anyone with half a working brain could tell you not many 11 year olds even know what an .Exe file is in the first place.

Using a cracked executable file isn't illegal. It may be a grey area, but as long as you have, and can prove that you have, the original disc, then you aren't breaking any laws. Cracked Exe's are a quick and easy way to preserve your investments by allowing you to store your CD's in a safe location. Several of my legitimate games have cracked Executable files. And guess what jackass, I am neither an 11 year old, nor am I a pathetic middle schooler trying to get an M rated game.

Grow the -blam!- up ok?

This is one of the many rare times I've been a "dick". Yet you're accusing me of something, in which you do every -blam!-ing day.

For your first paragraph. Does the immature 11 year olds have to "know" what an .exe file is, let alone know what it stands for? They can easily say "hm, I don't have the game, so I think I'll just download someone else's shared version through limewire, along with keygen.", without ever even knowing what an .exe file is. Don't challenge me with logic.

Also, the problem with these files, is that they get leaked everywhere around the net, all thanks to people who ignorantly approve of piracy. After all, sure, it's "legal" to create a cracked .exe file from the game you own, but those are not the people I am blaming, the people that are DOWNLOADING these things from Limewire, Kazaa, etc. are the people I dispise.

Sure, I'm being a "dick" and a stereotype right now, but you're one yourself almost everytime you post. I would say the same to you. "Grow the -blam!- up." Getting angry at certain people you don't even know over the internet really doesn't affect the person, unless he or she is weakhearted and gets offended for every little thing.

Again, I say, how many 11 year olds do you know can figure out how to download and install a copied game, plus use a keygen?

I'm not going to challenge you with logic, since it's obvious you lack any to begin with.

Getting angry at certain people you don't even know over the internet really doesn't affect the person, unless he or she is weakhearted and gets offended for every little thing.

You mean like you are right now?

I have no problem "being a dick" online. Especially since my "dickiness" is directed towards people whom I either find absolutely braindead, or rude, egotistical, and just plain ignorant. I usually try to put a little bit of humour into my post.

Some games can be downloaded over the internet, via an online service, such as Steam. Also, sometimes the games you install don't need the disk to play, such as Company of Heroes. Which is a really great game by the way.
