MX518 here, and the side button does help. Forward one for melee, back one for grenade, it feels much more natural. It also looks really nice and doesn't have a silly running man on the side.

Yes, go for it. You're getting a good deal. I have a Logitech G7 (wireless version of the G5) and I love it.

Lol, I already bought it my friend. xD Like two days ago.

To fs291:

Yeah, I'd actually prefer a USB mouse over wireless mouse and corded optical mouse, becaus it's less hassle. Mouse port cords tend to be really short in length, and people who put their computers in the bottom of their desks, can have a tough time trying to use it. Wireless mouse is the mouse with the less hassle I admit, since it has no wire to worry about, bu you have to constantly recharge it. Trust me, it'll suck when your mouse dies in the middle of a heavy firefight. Unless you're using a notebook mouse with a USB stick.

USB Laser Mouse, however, has a long cord (fiber I might add), and since your computer may have many USB ports in both sides, you can put it anywhere for your convinence.

I'm using some crappy free laser mouse, and an old school folder at a 30 degree angle as a mouse mat, covered in crinkles on which I can only move the mouse about 3-4 CM each way.

It also has a tendancy to randomly zoom around and click buttons. It wasn't nice when I spawned and grenaded a team mate in a 2v2, killing him. Not only did, but as soon as he respawned, it decided to throw the next two grenades.

It tends to zoom around at the worst moments (think rocket launcher in hands and oncoming Warthog).

That kind of things happen with many old optical/laser mice. That's why I replaced my old KEIO Optical Mouse with my new Logitech G5 Laser Mouse. =D

you do realize that you do not need to use a mouse pad with an optical or laser mouse right?
