Because the forums are organized so everyone can in a general topic or topic area. It isn't very difficult.

I still don't understand. When and if I post something remotely about... (well if I mention it I'll get my nuts kicked) maybe about, (whisper) Halo 3, I'd get a bombardment of, "... you're in the wrong post! n00b!" "you're a retard!"

You guys are like fascists, adhearing to the dictators of the Underground.

  • 01.18.2007 5:07 PM PDT

You say tomato; I say potato.

When someone posts a topic about their Halo 2 gamertag, you'd think they would put it in the "Halo 2 Xbox general" forum. The reason for seperate forums is to keep posts organized and to bring an individual 'mood' to the threads. Otherwise we would have "zomg zombie plan" threads in The Septagon.

That's all good and fun. But why do people explode cause it was in the wrong forum? Not telling me, but over the top, "Jesus! It's the Apocolypse! The end is here!" "Take me Jesus! We're all gonna die!!"

It seems as though all of you get sooo angry when anyone posts something in the wrong forum. Why do you abide so strictly to these rules? I have my own thoughts...

But I'd like to hear yours.

Okay, I am going to try and put this as politely as I can so bear with me, mkay?

The reason why we obied by the rules, is because they are rules. Something not meant to be bent nor broken, as most think. But to keep order within our small society. If you do not like it, leave. It is as simple as that. You may think of us as "nerdy" as stated above in this statement when you twisted someone's sentence around to fit your expectations; to read what you wanted to read.

Now, people get "angry" because when you post say a thread that says "Do you like pie?" in the Septagon, it would become spam. Now, if that were to be in the flood, then it will be a bit more at home; so to speak. There is a forum directory for a reason, people must learn to stop being so lazy and read the damn thing.

It is aggrevating to see misforumed threads (hardly ever posted by the same member), day in, day out, week after week.

Not everyone asplodes when threads go misforumed. Many users use a gentle but firm approach, kindly suggesting that the user use the _____ Forum for threads of this nature in the future.

I realize that's not what they said. I wasn't twisting the words, simply making fun of you guys and saying that's how you sound to the outside world.

Actually yes, that is twisting the words around. Twisting and mutilating the words just how you see fit in this situation. You make it seem like we are people that do not have lives. You make it seem like we are machines. The fact of the matter is, is we are all human. We all have lives. We all do what we wish instead of being subject to the wrath of society. Which is what you are showing here. If you do not like the way we, as international fans of bungie, communicate and the rules that are set; I suggest you leave. Complaining about this will get you no where. You will change nothing by complaining.

Sure. You know exactly what I intended. I "manipulated" the words. As if they're even remotely close what the kid said. Maybe the same subject. But wtf, not anywhere close to manipulation.

But.... Arguing on the internet is like running in the special olympics. Even if you win, you're still retarded. So I'll stop instigating and ruining your international fan club.

I will leave you with your words of judgement, however allow me to state, that one cannot have a discussion without arguements. That is how we, as humans, work. An idea comes up, some one doesn't like it, they fight verbaly. Without cursing and other sorts of profanity and degrating words mind you. Just polite conversations, which is what I have tried to do here. But it seem as though you are not interesting in a discussion. But in stead a bit of flames here and there. However, that is fine, I am not one to judge. Have a nice day.

Rules exist for a reason, and this particular rule exists to thwart the chaos that would result otherwise.

Some forum posters do get a bit... excited about it, and spam the thread instead of reporting it to a moderator.

Nice....

But yeah, the whole "Give an inch and they will take a mile" phrase applies here... If they're lenient to one person, others will call them out for playing Favorites...

Though we all know who the favorite member is...

It is the soldier, not the reporter, who has given us freedom of the press. It is the soldier, not the poet, who has given us freedom of speech. It is the soldier, not the campus organizer, who has given us the freedom to demonstrate. It is the soldier, not the lawyer, who has given us the right to a fair trial. And it is the soldier who salutes the flag, who serves the flag, whose coffin is draped in the flag that allows the protester to burn the flag.Father Dennis Edward O'Brien, USMC

Rules is rules.

It isnt fun to follow all the time, but blacklists arnt fun either.

This is such a great community. With friendly people who are willing to explain the rules. I now know why people don't like to have off topic posts in the forums. The rules keep everything organized and related to the topic of the forum.

Because some people are jerks.

I don't see where someone gets off saying "Wrong forum, GTFO"

A little kindness like "This would be better Here." wouldn't hurt anyone, but I guess some people insist on being rude.

It's still an overall good community though, but it's not perfect. Not that I expect it to be though........

Because it isn't that hard. I mean come on, how is it that people manage to post a Halo 3 topic in The Septagon, when a few millimeters below it is the Halo 3 Forum? Could it be ANY more obvious?

Bananas don't go with the hardware supplies, and they're easy to tell apart. Same goes for the forums.

So what, everything should be discussed in the one forum? Not with 2 million members.....

And not all of us get "sooo angry", that's just a loud, small, minority you're thinking of.
