i personally choose Halo 2 way over Halo, but i look arond and see differently from everyone else, why is it that u like halo instead of the 2nd? i find that the story line is better in 2 and more weapons = more fun + more destruction!

Some people, such as myself, prefer Halo, as its gameplay is superior compared to that of Halo 2. For a while I was like you, thinking Halo 2 was the be all end all, but one day you will realise this isn't true.

  • 01.19.2007 4:32 PM PDT

OMG

i personally dont think either is better than the other

halo had the single player down to a tee. The campaign was way more ingrossing. i could get in to the story in halo 2 because of the continuing switch of character (im not a fan of the arbitor)

Halo 2 had a way better multiplayer in my opion, even thow when i do play halo 1 mulitiplayer im always have a pistol because i love it. I think the weapon balance in halo 2 makes for a more balanced game even thow auto aim is a little too dominant, i still pick halo 2 for multiplayer every time.

So i guess the answer to your question is that i dont choose halo: ce over halo 2 and i dont pick halo 2 over halo: ce. it really depends what i feel like playin as both have god and bad points.

i love both of them and i cant wait for halo 3 so i can finished the story (see how i didn't put the fight)

I play Halo 1 because everything about it is superior to Halo 2.

I prefer Halo 1 because the campaign was just better. I found a lot of the battles to be more intense than the ones in the second game. Also in Halo 1 you didn't have the constant switching between Arbiter and the Chief throughout the whole game.

1. Halo has a kick a%$ story!
2. Halo has, unlike Halo 2, useful weapons in it, (example) The Plasma Pistol.
3. Halo has a great line-up of music.
4. The only thing good about Halo 2 is the online multiplayer and THA'T'S IT!!!

The original is just far more enjoyable for me than the second. Halo 2 didn't have the same fun that the first one did.

I know people who haven't even touched a controller when a Halo disc was in the Xbox, so they have no clue how captivating the scenery, storyline, campaign and multi-player gameplay are. The graphics are amazing in their own way, they aren't as realistic as Halo 2, however, they offer a different sense of reality. It is just right for the game. The game set the bar for the video game world, and Halo 2 set it higher once again. No company has been able to top what Bungie and their employees built. There would be no Halo 2 without Halo, and those of you who never played the original have no idea what you are missing. Those who were with the Halo franchise from the beginning started in a different era, where Halo was amazing for its graphics and everything about it. Now that Halo 2 has set the bar again, most people can no longer seem to respect and grasp idea or feeling. Halo and Halo 2 are without a doubt the world's greatest games, and they compliment eachother. There is so much work and technology and depth poured into these games and they both deserve recognition and should not be compared so much as they should simply be enjoyed.

all i usually do is play live on H2 i barely every play campaign, bt someone said earlier that CE had plasma pistols, so does H2 + dual wielding which makes it easier fo the kill, i played Halo CE through today and i did find combat more intense than H2 which is more slow paced and it was fun not being the abitor for a while. diff people like diff things about a game than i gess

  • 01.20.2007 5:30 PM PDT

1.Arkham Asylum, 2.Mass Effect, 3.Halo CE, 4.Mass Effect 2, 5.Halo 2, 6.Splinter Cell Double Agent, 7.Gears of War 2, 8.Medievil, 9.Oblivion, 10.Crash Team Racing

if halo2 had finished ending i would think they both would be perfect, but then i wouldnt have so great expectations about halo3, both have some good musics, great weapons although i prefer halo2 needler over halo1s. halo1 story is good but not ordinary. i think halo1 is one great game and halo2 and 3 form worlds best game.
i think bungie should make halo3 more like much improved halo2 than return to halo1 style. halo2 has way more potential with moving objects, better story, multiplayer and the common game feel. in someparts of halo2 i felt so good and little sad, like level gravemind when musics play and brutes are chasing grunts ( i try to kill brutes first). Halo1 doesnt wake many emotions, its just great game. Halo2 and i hope Halo3 wake some emotions with great stories

The Plasma Pistol in Halo is stronger than 3 Halo 2 plasma pistols, what are you talking about?

The physics and the weapon balance are what makes me enjoy Halo: CE much more. Many of the weapons in Halo: CE are much stronger and more reliable (i.e. the shotgun and plasma pistol). The auto-aim in the game also helps you to a much lesser degree, requiring you to be much more accurate with your shots (shooting at the shoulder does not count as a head shot). I also find the shield and health bar type of hit points preferable to simply the shield. Your running speed is faster and you must crouch to avoid fall damage on long falls. The story line and incredible finish give this game a lot of replay value (although some of the environments can become repetitive, an attribute of both Halo and Halo 2). These are the major items in Halo: CE that I prefer over Halo 2, hope this helps.

I agree with you, WordTA, but you better not question. And don't ever give in to Halo CE communist propoganda..it'll ruin your life like all who roam this forum waiting for Halo CE to make its comback

Enough with this commy/jamesbond/splintercell crap. I like Halo 2 better than 1.

The campaign owned in both games. Sure Halo 2 had arbiter stuff that most didnt like. Halo 2 had alot of intense battles like on Uprising when you run into multiple brute blockades with your elites, or on gravemind, when you're in a civil war and plasma and needles fly everywher, or in metropolis when mjolnir mix kicks in and you board the scarab like in the movies. Halo CE had some intense battles like on Final Run when you blow the hell out of everything. But it didnt feel as dangerous and intense, because the enemies fired less. In Halo 2 enemies fired twice as more, but werent as accurate, which feels realistic, as the enemies are actually trying to fight. In Halo 1 campaign, plasma pistol ruled the entire game. it was incredibly strong out of charge and you can take on crowds of enemies with it. levels werent as repetitive in 2 as in 1. many rooms in 2 looked alike, but in Halo 1 they where all alike, in Assault on the Control room about 4 types of rooms covered the entire level.

Personally I say Halo 2 is better both in Single and Mutliplayer. In Halo one every single level was repetitive. For example the library, omg the whole level was the same damn thing. Also the last three levels were levels reused previously earlier in the game. The only real complaint with halo 2 is that the levels felt like it had less freedom. In Halo 2 for the most part you had to go a certain path to complete the level were in halo one there were many times multiple paths to take. However for character AI, Halo 2's was by far much more superior and the dialogue seemed much more realistic. I mean how many time can you hear a marine yell "I'm a cowardly fool" before you realize the dialogue is just not diverse enough. Also for Halo 2 campaign there is a much more diverse range of enemies to fight. Now for Multiplayer Halo 2 beats Halo in basically every aspect. I mean hijacking a vehicle is still cool. The only thing I dont like is that vehicles have been overpowered. I rememberd in the original Halo always being afraid of being sniped when ever I'm in the tank or having my warthog flip when hit by a well placed grenade. Both of those aspects have been changed and the only way to take out a vehicle is by rocket launcher. Which also sucks because if someone has a rocket launcher and you are in a vehicle then you are as good as dead. So the in vehicle aspect I think Bungie did worse in Halo 2 except for the ability to jack vehicles. However for every thing else Bungie did much better in Halo 2 making it so now weapon is to strong (like the pistol in halo one... yuck!). Despite all the downfalls in Halo 2 overall Halo 2 is much better game and if you are willing to say the orginal Halo is better than Halo then you are ignoring all the hardwork bungie put in Halo 2 because it is aparent more effort went in to Halo 2 than Halo one DEFINITELY in the single player realm.

Everyone says this, but l honestly think that, to this day, Halo: Combat Evolved's graphics are amazing. l'm trying to beat Halo: Combat Evolved on my 360 on Legendary, so l can have the badges as proof on my 360. And l'm seeing things that l never noticed before. The pins and badges on Key's uniform, the Forunner symbols on Elites' armor, the way that blood gushed out of bodies, the dramatic way Elites dived to avoid grenades, the cool firey explosions of an exploding banshee, the frightening and vicious look of a fuel rod cannon, and l can go on and on. Halo: Combat Evolved's graphics, to me, are seriously damn near close to Halo 2's. Halo 2 had better looking environments, a little more detailed, and more shiny. But l still marvel at Halo: Combat Evolved.

Doc: "i'm a pacifist"
Caboose: "your a thing that babies suck on?"
Tucker: "no dude, that's a pedephile"
Church: "tucker, i think he means a pacifier"

it's just a matter of preference. halo2 focused heavily on it's multiplayer and the campaign lacked when compared to the 1st game. for those who ove the campaign this very quickly robbed halo2 of a lot of it's draw. considering that halo multiplayer was fine the way it was, it did have some slight balance issues, and they were addressed with the second game. however the changes that were made turned the game into a new-player friendly arena where all you need to do is run around with a little combo (you know which) or use little prissy button mashing combos to be a threat.

i personally liked halo better simply cause the campaign was more enjoyable to me. a lot of my issues with halo2 focus more on it's xbl side of things, which is largely out of bungies realm of control. i still do 8v8 lans with my friends on halo whenever we get a chance to, but since it is the popular game most people just like to play halo2 more often then not.

Likewise. When you compare the two games together, yes, Halo 2 makes Combat Evolved look like an eight-bit NES game. But sometimes I just look at Halo and think that it doesn't look that bad despite over six years since its release.
