Either people don't want to join any games I host, or they can't. It's really bothering me. My firewall isn't blocking Halo, so I'm positive it's not that.

My internet setup is a broadband plan, phone line, to modem, to computer. No routers or anything, unless the modem counts as a router (I don't really know much about all that stuff).

Can anyone help me with this?

Also, is there anyway I can go into more detail when making a new game type? I want the starting weapons to be a Pistol and a Rocket launcher.

Help with these things would be greatly appreciated ^^

Last thing, I downloaded Halo Custom Edition, but it runs so slow! No matter what map, how many players, it's incredibly slow. The normal Halo online play works fine (frame rate wise), so why not Halo CE?

Set the games name to something like !!!!Capturetheflag or whatever. Nobody sees your game cause its most likely at the bottom of the list since so many people put 0 or ! to keep there up at the top of the list.

Halo is nowhere near the same level of customization as when it comes to Halo 2. Sadly, you can't choose to have a rocket launcher as your primary weapon and a pistol as a secondary weapon.

I've tried that. I had this same problem with Star Craft. People couldn't join my games once I upgraded to broadband. When I had dial-up they could :( I have no idea what so ever why this happens.

Is there a mod I can download or something that adds more options for the game settings thing? Or isn't Halo that durable..

Thanks for the quick responses :)

Forward the ports on your router then it should work.

NAT (network address translation) can cause a lot of problems, and it's the bane of Halo 2 custom games, but I won't go into that.

Urgh, not sure what happened there.

I've got AVG, but I've tried disabling it and that didn't work.

Loads of people have that problem. Try disabling everything in AVG before you close it, make sure windows firewall isnt on, and I don't think it is NAT because I have never encountered someone without a router having that problem.

Yes, I am a hypocrite, and I'm sorry. I really do mean well, but I'm not running on all cylinders.

Everytime someone buys a copy of Halo 2 Vista, a puppy dies.

Some providers use NAT on their end. You might want to contact your internet service provider, find out if they block port 2302, and if so, whether they can unblock it for you.
