Now that you've taken the time to look at my sig, I actually regret not providing you with something more worthwhile.

Do any of you think that the skin you choose for your group might affect whether or not people come there to post? I ask this question because today, I was posting in a group that I help maintain and thought to myself, "this group is too dark. It's depressing. I should change it." That led me to check the groups I post in normally to see what theme they had. All but one of the groups that I post in regularly have a bright theme. I think the brighter, happier themes attract more people.

Am I thinking out of my head or do you think there is some validity to this? Does your group list suggest that maybe you too are attracted to the bright colors?

I am...whimsical today.

If you use the restricted one then group activity comes right back up for some reason...

Yeah I tend to be more active in groups with brighter scems than darker ones, but that comes at the bottom of a long list of criteria.

"Whatever exists, whatever in creation exists without my knowledge exists without my consent. These anonymous creatures may seem little or nothing in the world. Yet the smallest crumb can devour us. Any smallest thing beneath yon rock out of men's knowing. Only nature can enslave man and only when the existence of each last entity is routed out and made to stand naked before him will he be properly suzerain of the earth."

While some people may be more attracted to the bright ambience of, say, Halo Babies, I highly doubt that people will leave or not join the group based on the theme. And the people who do, I'm guessing, either won't be very active or won't be very good members to begin with. The people groups tend to want are the people with requirements that are more pertinant to a groups forum, like whether the group is active, whether the topic(s) of discussion have a point, whether the group is relatively unique, etc.

I wouldn't say that the theme of a group changes my view of it. Unless of course you're talking about "those" themes. You know what I'm talking about.

I just wish we could get more themes.. The amount of groups is so high that there's hardly any variety, or not enough to satisfy me... I think if we had more, groups would get more interesting, I suppose.

Or I'm just an idiot that has no idea what I'm talking about.

Isn't Achronos working on something? If so, I'm guessing more themes will be implemented when he's done.

I really don't care. I tend to not like some because the text is not as visible. That's it though.

Skins do affect activity. Terminal should never be used by a group.

it also depends on the mood of your groop, for instance if you were an elite fan groop you would hardly choose Mullins and if you were a groop based on myth you wouldn't choose ONI, it depends.

I tend to join brighter skin groups because the darker ones, mostly the xbox one, require more work to see the text and I constantly misinterperet the topic or post content which really makes me look bad if I post incorrectly.I think broghter skins look nicer than a darker one as the brighter ones seem more creative or pretty to me, not sure why though, but I believe you were on the correct idea with your thinking.

I learned firsthand the darkside of terminal.. MEECH

True, I'm more active in the brighter themed forums. Too bad they aren't accepting any more themes, I'd like to make a Red vs Blue one.

yeah, but like Mabian said, even if does keep people out, who would want such shallow and pedantic people in their group? Me.

I do think it makes sense, except I wouldn't call oni birght and happy, but it is probably the most popular.

Most definitely the theme affects posting and activity. If you don't believe me, just throw on some Terminal and wait for the sound of crickets.

I think the best themes are Oni, Halo Babies and Myth. None are great, but these three seem to be the most aesthetically pleasing to the eye.
