Hello,

Well, here we go again -- my old network adapter, a Linksys Wireless G, died a week ago. I have no idea what did it, for all I know it was just that it expired.

So I recently purchased an older model, the Linksys Wireless B. Of course, that can only receive 11 Mbps, while the other friggin' pwned it -- 54 Mbps. That really shouldn't matter though, right? (Correct me if I'm wrong.)

Now then, to the point. It's been working just fine on every internet application I can imagine; Call of Duty 2, Battlefront, Battlefield 2142, all of them work fine. But Halo...for some reason, it hates my internet. It never lets me connect to servers, and on the rare occasion that I can, it bugs out pretty fast.

Any help is appreciated. Will pay cash.

Remember "The Maw"

I'm not a huge network expert, but it kinda sounds to me like you haven't opened your ports for the game. Halo uses ports 2302 and 2303. So, make sure those are opened first.

Thats typically if you want to host, but it's worth a try.

And how do I check if my network ports are open? Sorry, I'm a network newb.

in the address bar type in 192.168.1.1
default username is nothing, password is "admin"

From then on it differs based on router, but generally, click advanced and then ports, or forwarding.

This website might offer some valuable information. Just pick the brand and model number of your router and it has detailed instruction on port forwarding for many applications, including Halo.

Hey,

Thanks for the link, mate, but I'm afraid it won't work. I just found out that I'm not using a router, but a network card -- I have no idea what difference that makes, but your suggestions above were rendered useless by the development.

Any body know about network cards, then?

...

Anybody?
