Oh, I can picture the sweet bliss now.

7 seconds before somebody walks in to my base in Valhalla, I'll stick a spikey to the top of the doorframe, and when they walk in, they'll get a headache of massive proportions.

That, and I can yell, "Just like in Star Trek!"

Life isn't like Halo, you don't go "Boop. Boop. Beep!" and come back alive.

Very nice. Seems to be a very good tactical upgrade from the pasma nade. :D

...but why couldn't Bungie just show a close up of the grenade? :(

I'm guessing you haven't seen the 'Puma' radials that the Warthog is now sporting....check this out and pay close attention to the driver's side rear wheel and you'll also be happy to see the Spike Grenade in a much better light.

8-)

Well from the description it sounds more like a anti-personel grenade than an anti-vehical grenade and in my opinion and knowedge from firefights agaist infantry and vehicals i found the plasma grenade to be more effective/easier to use agaist a vehical than infantry, however it is very effective agaist infantry i perfer to use it exclusively agaisnt vehicals and fragmentation grenades against infantry, it sounds like the new grenade is a more even mix between a frag and a sticky, because yes it sticks to its target but itstead of a burst of energy it uses shrapnel like its human counterpart the frag grenade all in all i think it will be a welcome addition to the growing list of weapons in the Halo inventory. And i think with how creative all you Halo fans are i think you will be able to find a use for it. Now on to bussiness what to call the new grenade, any suggestions?

Don't get me wrong....the new info is a quick fix for the hunger. But I must add that for something so damn large...(36 inch spike grenade) - such a small kill radius. Even today's real grenades are stronger than that and smaller than a softball. Sorry....just seems so weak for something that large.

Still looking forward to the game.

Really? You mean from the first line, that says
"Type-2 Antipersonnel Fragmentation Grenade"?
Or maybe the second line, which says the same thing?
Or a few lines down, that calls it "the standard antipersonnel fragmentation grenade"?

Sorry, I had to.

Also to DangerDoom, they mention they don't know what the grenade is actually called, but I'm pretty sure the official name in the game is the spike grenade (or at least it is for now).

Who here thinks that due to the relative cone of shrapnel that it produces, you (as the player) should be able to cook it off which (if your good) will allow the nade to explode en-route in all directions. Just a thought

Its the size of a Ruler man!! that thing should be a death stick not a pimp cane but hay Bungie calls 800lb ATV Ultra-light-weight so WFT.

Well Enough Alone...

~"The people who play Bungie games tend to sense that there's something behind the games that's attractive to them. Then they become fans of the games. And then they become rabid fans. And then they become employees of Bungie."(Life story) -Marty

So if you stick an enimy, the blast goes away from them? We know it dousn't go up because we can jump over them to avoid it. But how does that kill them? It would be much more affective and bloody if it went through them! But that wouldn't be consistant with "going perpendicular to the surface it's stuck to". Also...they said earlyer that it could stick to any surface in the game exept for water. Does that mean it could stick to other grenades? Or missles? Not that I could do that. And will there be a reward for killing someone with it in mp like there is with the plasma nad? Also, I heard it makes a good mele weapon. Is this just from throwing it at someone and hitting them or is there a way to actually bash people with it? AND WHAT ABOUT THE SHIELD NAD???? Will they give us news on that next? The cove got a new toy so I'm asuming the shield grenade, as I've heard it reffered to, is of human origin. Ausome news!
