Maybe we should perma-ban trolls who post absurd inflammatory suggestions in the Septagon. Note: This was also the person who started the "Get rid of the MAW" thread.

Old school Bungie, born and raised,
In the Septagon is where I spend most of my days.
Relaxin', maxin', posting all cool,
Talking about Halo, life and some school.
Got in one little argument, and the mods got scared,
they said "You're gonna get banned and your member title'll be bare!"

I know that if I were a mod (hint, hint), I'd be BL those darn trolls. Not perma-banning, of course. That would be just silly...

Worst idea ever...

Nah. In permanent banning a new member would be wrong. They don't have an idea whatsoever of how the Forums work yet. Trust me...we've all been there.

If a member has been a member for over a time period of four months, then they should be permanent banned.

In order for a more secure forum, all bans of members should be permanent, no matter what the offense. No more one week bans, and users that are attempting to sign in on alternate accounts are banned without question. This would help free the forum of users who disobey Bungie and the moderators. Everyone will think twice before stepping out of line. This will keep the Bungie.net population in check somewhat, especially with the upcoming release of Halo 3 this year. Then, none shall oppose the rules of the Bungie.net forums and the decrees of the moderators. Bungie should stop acting weak and take absolute control of their forums!

As crazy as this idea sounds, it would actually be a good thing for Bnet. Not only would more frequent permanent bans help keep down the population of this site, but it would also help keep the other members in line. More fear of getting banned is exactly what we need for these forums and it will force people to double check the forums they're posting in and what they're writing. So what if some people get mad at getting banned? It's for the good of the community.

Strange evolution how people have come to believe
That we are it's greatest achievement
We're barely, we're just a collection of cells

Maybe instead of 1 week ban just a 1 month ban so it isn't that harsh. A permanent ban for 1 rule broken is pretty harsh especially for a website.
