Anyone understood why when Keyes gave you his pistol, said it wasn't loaded, but then you find yourself upholstering it and shooting Grunts in the head? There was no ammo anywhere(the first pistol ammo is after the lunchroom).

Fixed spelling.

You are wrong the way he says it implies that it is empty.

Agreed, I am thinking that maybe there is ammo on the ground. Because if you jump over the spot where the master chief first picks up the ammo, you will not unholster the weapon. You will simply move on until you get ammo.

"I don't keep it loaded son, you'll have to find ammo as you go".

You must just pick up some [invisible] ammunition before you encounter those Grunts.

Not true, that's if you run fast enough to the checkpoint. Without hitting anything. Sometimes doing that. You can't just "jump" over it.

I still don't like the invisible ammo idea. I would think Bungie would've done that.

I made a cardboard MA5B!!!!!!!!!!!!

I do not think MC would go anywhere without ammo clips , so I think he reloads it when he out of sight. IMO. : P

And it's your connection that's slower than turtle sex.

In........................................................Out .

You pick up ammo before you fight the grunts.

What I don't get is why Keys would give a gun with no ammo. That's like having a toy with no batteries.

End trialer...

Sees through HUD.

Cpt. Keys: "I don't keep it loaded son you'll haft to ammo as you go."

Cpt. Keys hands John(MC) M6D Pistol

John(MC) walks out of PoA's(Pillar of Autumn's) Bridge and hears Grunts squeel, pulls M6D it back shoots all 3(three) Grunts in the head continues to door and picks up AR(MA5B Assualt Rifle) turns aroun pulls out the Pistol(M6D) goes back on bridge shoots Cpt. Keys in the head, and meracously get all of invicible marines to fall in hole in the front of PoA bridge.............

All it means is that Cpt. Keys dosen't keep it fully loaded(I don't keep it loaded).

:P

Become the hunter.

It's entirely possible for someone to have an unloaded weapon. I don't load my weapons until I'm ready to fire. He didn't lie, just MC found some (invisible) ammo.

I agreed. That's so retarded.

×

and it is completley impossible that MC keeps a couple clips on him, and then loads it in once he hears the grunts?

I think that this thread is a complete waste of time. Just because you can't see the ammo, doesn't mean it's not there. All you need to know is that once you get the gun and the ammo, you can start to kill things.

However, if you want to really agonize about it, the lack of visuals could be a mistake and you don't get to see the clip or whatever.

It was empty. The Chief picked up ammo off a dead Ensign.

...Um, how about who cares.

He said he doesn't keep it loaded, and he gives it to you without ammo. Once you get halfway through that hallway leaving the bridge, you pass a trigger set there by the game designers (bungie!), that trigger tells the game to give you a pistol (because technically you don't actually have a pistol until that point) and a few rounds of ammo. Then you kill grunts.

Duh, how could we all have overlooked this? He didn't say he didn't have ammo for it, he meant that he never loaded the clip of ammo into the pistol itself.

I think that could pretty much sum it up.
