What will knowing a release date or tech specs do for you? Nothing. If they haven't given an update, there probably isn't anything to update on. Impatience will get you nothing.

What will a release date or tech specs do for me? A lot.

Let's say I want to build a new Vista computer, but don't want to until Halo 2 Vista is out... By giving me a release date, and tech specs, I know what hardware I should put into my new machine, and when to build it all by...

You are making a hypothetical situation. You wouldn't build a machine just to run H2V. That would be stupid. You would build a machine with the best parts you can afford. Building a computer doesn't take that long. 2 days to a week. You will have plenty of time to build a computer when they do release a date. Its not coming out till at least late February and my guess April or later.

You want a screenshot of what H2V looks like? Go look at the probably millions of screenshots from the xbox version.

The information you want probably isn't final. Do you want them to give you something but then have to say "well, its not actually going to happen, sorry"? No, you don't. You will get an update when you get an update. There is no practical reason why you need an update at all. Stop being impatient whiners.

I have a bad feeling that Halo 2 Vista will be another port that Bungie craps out and then stops supporting. With as popular as Halo 3 will be, H2V probably isn't very high on Bungie's to-do list.

Why would they care? Is vista going to bring them millions of dollars, or just hundreds of thousands.

Actually, I do infact need a computer upgrade, and knowing that Halo 2 Vista will be the main game I will play, I will probably get the parts that are no less recommend by Bungie. I didn't say building a computer takes long, you're right, it only takes about 2-3 days to pick out everything, but what I would need to know, is when to get the money by.

I want a screenshot of Halo 2 Vista, so go look at Xbox screenshots? In case you didn't know, there is more of a difference then just the name between the games.

My post still stands. You won't be buying the minimum or recommended specs. You will be buying the best parts you can afford. Start saving now, you will have more saved up when they do release a date then if you wait.

In case you didn't know, it is a port. It takes time to add new features and test them. They will show you something when they are ready, not when you demand so. Stop being impatient whiners.

I think you should settle down and stop making threads demanding for an update. They'll give us an update when they give us an update. Giving yourselves conniption fits isn't going to make them do it any faster.

So I guess just keeping quiet is the best course of action. Good idea. That way Bungie realizes that even the PC-dedicated forum isn't even in an upheval from the lack of H2V updates that they go on putting it last on their "to-do" list.

Posted by: brianv
Okay, there won't as too much differences between the xbox version and this port. If you're really in need of an update, go check Halo 2 xbox's news.

Please go back to New Mombasa.

I doubt Bungie will be allowed by MS to crap out on H2V seeing as it is a launch title for Live Anywhere.

You sure about that? Halo 1 PC was Bungie's first PC game, boasting the online play missing from their first game. That was the selling point for that port. Look how that turned out.

it's going to be out soon why do you need a damn update. just wait you impatient bastard

It's going to be out soon? How the hell would you know? They haven't even set up a release date. But what, one day it just shows up on the shelves without so much as an update? You'll be happy and content with Bungie for that? "Oh yes, I see how dedicated you were to that project; you went ahead and failed to mention anything IMPORTANT about it. You know, like release date, system specs, and maybe some other sort of drivel that would let us know that you have a shred of care in you to make me actually even think about buying a rehashed game."

Bull. Complete utter bull. They reported back in Novemember how all they were waiting for was "Vista to be released." You're going to tell me they don't have anything to report about three day's from Vista's release? You honestly believe that they've given all the info they have? FYI, Bungie is a company, not Jesus; they will lie, they will withold information, they will stab you in the back, and they will frequently let you down.

im just getting tired of "I want a bloody update"

No one forced you to post here. Also, it's a forum; you're allowed to -blam!-. What's a forum without debate?

They won't lie, and they won't stab us in the back. Thats how you alienate your customers. This isn't a debate, this is a demand. You won't be pleased either way. It is no right of yours to have information given to you when you feel it should. Demanding something will almost never get it for you, especially in this situation. You have a predisposition to think that bungie, and every other company, is out to get everyone. It would be much better here if you dropped it.

If there is anyone who should drop it, it is you, Chewy. Do you undoubtedly believe everything you are told? You must, or else you'd actually use that space between your ears and see that not everyone and everything tells the truth, especially if they are "OMG BUNGIE! <3" But it's obvious you believe what the head honchos tell you, so what's the use in arguing with a stone. Be sure to send me a postcard from Air Strip One.

Just because I use logic and common sense doesn't mean you can try to insult me. You don't see logic, and insult people who do.

it'll be out when it'll be out. when they suddenly say "oh sorry, we're not going to release it." then you can have something to complain about.
not saying you are complaining, but Hired Gun will get it done when they say so.

Guys have you walked into a EB store or Game stop lately. The walls are lined with console games. PC Games get one rack maybe both sides, thats it. PC games are shunned because consoles are easier to program for.

Indeed. Hopefully, the Games For Windows marketing campaign, with its shiny design, labelling, standardization, and flair, will change that.

Listen, Bungie already said all the new features/improvements for Halo 2 Vista.

1) Vista exclusive.

2) Tweaked graphics with High Resolution.

3) No new weapons for MP.

4) No auto-aim for people using the M/K combo, however, possibly some for those using the Xbox 360 controller.

5) No cross-platform multiplayer (Xbox vs. PC)

6) One of the first to use the Live Anywhere feature.

7) Full support for the Xbox 360 controller.

8) No singleplayer HEK.

9) Map editor out of the box.

10) Includes the maps from the Halo 2 Multiplayer Map Pack.

Now Bungie said all of this above, and being as Halo 2 Vista is not much different, in terms of gameplay, to the Xbox version. What is new to explain to us?

If you're so obsessed about owning Halo 2 that you can't even wait a few more months after waiting years, then just get a damn xbox. Or even better, a 360.

Did you consider...
Maybe I don't want to play with a controller?
Maybe I don't have an Xbox?
Maybe I don't want to play on a 640x480 TV?
Maybe I don't want to play with half a billion glitches?
Maybe I don't want to play with an 8 year old screaming at me?
Maybe I want to put my new PC to good use?

The fact is, is that Bungie is overdue to give us an update. It almost isn't making any marketing sense... Updates = Hype, More Hype = More potential buyers, More potential buyers = More potential money.

I mean, I'm sure they've come along way since the last screenshots we've received - four months ago. They could at least give us a few new ones. I can understand about not wanting to show some new feature that isn't finished yet, but they could at least talk about it.

Ya, Bungie is over due with a Update, so far, all that I've seen is things about Halo 3, Halo 3 has a few more months before release, so lets hear some Mixed Updates, both on Halo 2Vista, and Halo 3.

ya, we need to see more screen shots, to get a idea on how close to being done it is.

No I mean hype only works like that in the last few months. You can't get hype to last for the whole development cycle.

What logic? You hold no logic. You wave idiotic tendencies around, find yourself caught with your hands down your pants, and then try to flip it around. All you do is go around in circles and then attack the person. Then, when the person returns the favor, you try to use that against them. It amazes even me how you have surived here as long as you have where people might even take you semi-seriously because I sure as hell don't.

1. Go back to New Mombasa
2. How is complaining a sign of obsession?
3. I don't want a damn Xbox. Does it look like I want to go out and buy a piece of hardware for one game and then pay an online fee to pay with a crappy community as well as play a dumbed down game? Halo 2 Vista will require some skill for once, the true Halo 2 experience; no auto aim for one and the ability to mod the hell out of it so it can be fixed from the travesty that Bungie made it. That's why I sold my Xbox and Halo 2 Xbox copy a long time ago.
4. Regarding the 360: if I wanted over-priced hardware, I'd get an Alienware. At least I wouldn't have to buy a whole new system after four years.

Were you in a cave during Halo 2 production?

Let there be CHAOS!

Here's how I see it:
Tuesday - Vista comes out meaning Halo 2 Vista is getting closer to being released as well
Wednesday - People play H2 for 3 hours and sign up for the H3 beta again

Most likely Bungie will address both of these things in the next couple of days in one little update.

However my patience will not last. If I come home tuesday night with my new computer (with Vista on it) and Bungie hasn't made any new updates, I will be angry. YOU HEAR ME BUNGIE?! ...lolz
