You just proved my point, just like you did in the last argument we had.

Just because I use logic and common sense doesn't mean you can try to insult me. You don't see logic, and insult people who do.

What logic? You hold no logic. You wave idiotic tendencies around, find yourself caught with your hands down your pants, and then try to flip it around. All you do is go around in circles and then attack the person. Then, when the person returns the favor, you try to use that against them. It amazes even me how you have surived here as long as you have where people might even take you semi-seriously because I sure as hell don't.

Is it just me, or does anyone else find this extremely ironic?

If you're so obsessed about owning Halo 2 that you can't even wait a few more months after waiting years, then just get a damn xbox. Or even better, a 360.

1. Go back to New Mombasa
2. How is complaining a sign of obsession?
3. I don't want a damn Xbox. Does it look like I want to go out and buy a piece of hardware for one game and then pay an online fee to pay with a crappy community as well as play a dumbed down game? Halo 2 Vista will require some skill for once, the true Halo 2 experience; no auto aim for one and the ability to mod the hell out of it so it can be fixed from the travesty that Bungie made it. That's why I sold my Xbox and Halo 2 Xbox copy a long time ago.
4. Regarding the 360: if I wanted over-priced hardware, I'd get an Alienware. At least I wouldn't have to buy a whole new system after four years.

Hype only works like that in the short term. It doesn't last for more than a few months.

exactly why we're due for an update, the hype is dieing :P

No I mean hype only works like that in the last few months. You can't get hype to last for the whole development cycle.

Were you in a cave during Halo 2 production?

There is always a core following, however the vast majority will not wait on hype alone for a game. Especially in this case as it is a ported 2 year old game.

Nope, sorry, but that argument failed.... he already said why he sold his Xbox, and doesn't want one in his post.

Are you kidding me? Someone posted a list before of what bungie can update on. the fact of the matter is that h2v was meant to be a vista release title or very close around the date anyway and now after around 2-4months (?) there hasnt been a single update on the release date of the game or whats hapening with h2v; its quite frankly appauling by bungie that they are not even giving the game any attention. as i said before some1 posted a list of what they could update on and if they give us some of this info each week there would be no complaints. i dont mind waiting a few more months for h2v, but i do mind waiting in darkness not knowing wats hapenin with the game or when it will be released

Great Overlord, bless these poor impatient, spoiled children who "need" to know more about a video game.

A need is something you must have in order to survive.

A want is something you desire to have so that you can do more than simply survive.

H2V should just be cancled, you whiners obviously don't deserve Hired Gun's efforts to bring this game to you.

Do the real fans, the ones who enjoy the game for the game and don't really care what info is released beforehand. The guys who look at a game, think it's cool, and play it, and either like it and play it a lot for a long time, or don't and forget about it. The guys who form their own communities, sharing info on the game, without even thinking about the developer. Do them a favour you whiners, and be quiet, before Bungie decides we are not worth their time and money. The fact that we have any info at all about the game other than it is being made is a gift, and if you can't appreciate that, then quite frankly, go to hell.

And I love how the argument that more info should be released to "build hype". Yet I do believe that people here also agree that Bungie has "sold out" etc.

Hyprocrites.

Welcome but not necessary. They will give us an update when they feel like it.

And for those of you who want to know the release date, try not being so lazy. It's right on Microsoft's gaming website, right hand side under "release sechedule".

Which makes sense as the game is being "made" by a team formed by Microsoft Game Studio, not Bungie, and thus it is a Microsoft product which is given info by them, not Bungie.

The H2V webpage at Microsoft.com

Release date is Spring 2007.

Oh, and the system requirements are "Windows Vista operating system required".

Which means as long as you can get Windows Vista to run on your watch, you can play H2V on it.

And look! Screenshots!

What else was on that list...I'm too lazy to read it again.

No, actually, there are quite a bit of "un-known" features that we're still wanting to learn about (hence the reason for this update thread). The only thing that we could do, is look at the "watered-down" screenshots of the xbox version.
And I still don't understand how I'm going to go find out Halo 2 Vista information, on an Xbox website (xbox.com for example).

What it is.

<Nosferatu_Soldie> Hey, if you guys had a level editor for Halo 2 I would be doing that, but you don't.

<KP> Soon.™

they keep saying Soon™ is when Halo 2 Vista will come out...only if i knew what that meant(not soon but the reason behind the ™..)

i would like to see a demo of this game due to the releasing of Vista tomrrow, which i am proudly purchasing once i get out of school..

You just destroyed whatever credibility you have on here.

I have Vista running on a workstation, which I can tell you now, theres no way in HELL its going to run halo1 even.

I havent been back to bungie for a long time, as some of you might know. However, I was rather suprised to see that on the day of Vista release (Spring 2007 is NOT a release date), theres nothing about halo2.

I havent been here for months, and theres nothing very interesting told about halo2Vista.

Do I think they should have done something by now? Yes I do.

You can accuse me of being a whinging fanboy, but Im not. My interest is waning fast. If it wasnt for the fact I have vista via work, I wouldnt have even checked back.

What I am, is a potential customer. Who is losing interest.

Well obviously there is, because I am.

Im interested in Halo2 for Vista. Whats hard to understand about that?

If I wasnt interested, then I wouldnt be posting. If no-one could be interested before a game was out, then this forum wouldnt be for halo 2 vista.

Before people say 'we are lucky to have screen shots etc etc', well news for you. Thats to keep people interested. Without keeping some interest going, there wouldnt be as many sales when it comes out. Oh, I daresay it will still sell, but not as much.

Take stalker for example. Even if it does get released, its going to suffer from a huge lack of sales compared to what it could have got if it was released some time ago.

The end discussion of it all is that no, they dont have to give us anything. No they dont have to give us information/updates about it.

But it is in their interests too.

Its not going to be released for at least a month after it is announced. That is plenty of time to generate interest and hype. It is not in their interest to give out information that may change. It is not in their interest to show unfinished things and say, well it will look super cool when its released.

There are reasons why there haven't been updates other than they are lazy.

Never said they were lazy, did I?

I say again, it IS in their interest to...keep people interested.

My opinion is merely that they have released very little. And that I expected a release date along with the release of vista.

Its not happened, so there we go.

You haven't but many others in this thread have. I personally don't see why you would expect that, but you can expect what ever you want, I guess, as long as you don't blame anyone if your expectations aren't fulfilled.

Please, I was being sarcastic.

And your losing interest in a computer game because you don't know anything about it? Did you skip the 90's? Because I am quite sure that most games then didn't have nice big webpages with even bi-yearly updates regarding the game. And what do you know! Some of the most popular and most loved games of all time were released in the 90's, and found by gamers who were just looking through a store, with no prior knowledge of the game.

I am really getting fed up with this "I deserve" or "I need" attitude among gamers. We don't deserve games any more than we deserve TV or movies, their nice things that we have, and apparently are taking for granted. Maybe Bungie should start making games for Mac's now, just to teach us a lesson.
