Halo 1 was the only game I played and beat repeatedly. Campaign especially on Legendary was what really made the game. You could play it and practice over and over without getting bored and than got out and own your friends in a LAN. H2 is not like that. Somethings have benn changed in MP from what they were in campaign such as the grenade physics, beat downs, and probably a few others I am not aware of. I grind my teeth now when thinking about playing legendary on H2 and often long for the feel of Halo:CE, because H2 wasn't as fun it was just a challenge and truthfully the only reason I even finished legandary on H2 was because I was such a big fan of the first game. Looking back and even now playing legendary seems like more of a chore than a thrill. I can't say that H2 sucks because I still play MP on Live and usually enjoy it, but Bungie definitley missed something the second time around. The release date probably had something to do with it, because the whole game, as good as it is or isn't, feels unfinished - and I'm not just talking about the ending.
I'm glad to hear that they are being critical about H2 and admit the shortcomings of the game. Hopefully this will allow them to see their past mistakes and use that to make greater improvements on H3. I'd rather be able to enjoy a game when I'm playing it than than just beating it so I can throw MY MADSKILLZ in other people's faces. And to be honest no matter how much crap those little flamers talk online the competition is never as fierce as when the person your playing is sittling right next to you in flesh and blood. Whatever the schortcomings of H2, or H1 for that matter may be, they are still two amazing achievements and it's reassuring to know that Bungie means business. And to all you immature impatient flamers who whine about release dates, take a deep breath, and some ritalin, and remember that all good things come to those who wait. I'd rather wait for a game that I can enjoy for years to come than have a game right now that I won't even remember in six months.
i love u
