Is the weapons on the POA are being field tested?

Explain yourself.

If you mean the MAC cannon, you could say yes. It is a more or less prototype that fires three shells in rapid succession with one charging of the superconducting mag coils.

The Archer missile pods? No. The only thing special about them is that they are all oversized, as compared to those of the fleet's frigates.

Become the hunter.

I don't think the marine weapons are "experimental"

This is true though.

That and there's a butt-load more than on any other ship in the fleet. My memory's plenty rusty, but I believe an entire flank is covered in Archer pods.

I think the removal of night vision was simply a design choice. The developers probably just wanted to get rid of it.

For that other scope you get in Halo 2, man; that one went so far over your head it hit a sniper in the tower behind you.

The weapon differences are simply a result of weapon balancing.

No, both sides of the cruiser had Archer missile pods. The extra weaponry was provided by a s**tload of chain guns on either side, or something to that effect.
