it depends alot on your connection along with the hosts connection. You got to figure how far to lead your shot on each host. i know it can get frustrating.

the movement lag is normal right? because it's damn annoying and the leading cause of my bad aim and easy deaths

Of course it is.

Halo XBC is just that much worse, not only due to the fact that someone will always be the host, and therefore have an unfair advantage of having no lag, but due to movement lead. However, if you can beat someone on their own server, then that shows the marking of a true player.

It won't matter. The game will lag regardless of the ping because Halo CE was meant to be played over a high speed LAN not over the internet. First off make sure you have a timer to get to those powerups in time. If you can't aim then grab a weapon that doesn't require much aim...a rocket launcher.

If you're going to play Halo online, you're better off with PC. ON XBC you always have to lead your shots and stuff, and the amount of lead you need depends on the host and your connection, so it;s random everytime.

I tried playing snipers on Boarding Action, couldn't do it, every shot trailed behind him and when I lead my shots it took all 4 of my shots, and that was the only kill I got(the other guy had host).
