I've challenged my beliefs. What is the book about?

I find that this is usually untrue. If religious people honestly, diligently and intelligently challenged their beliefs, there would be no religious people.

I think the purpose of the underground should be made more obvious, I've noticed how many people make threads there when they should go elsewhere. Maybe a sticky entitled "GIRLS OF HALO 2" to draw them in, then have the rules listed or something :P

Doctor woot, shame on you. You should know that bait-n-switch topics are not allowed, even if it is for a good cause. Now, I do however agree with your statement completely about the underground. It has become filled with spam, and other topics that do not belong there. If only there was a way to get every member to read the Code of Conduct.......and the stickies....okay and maybe the Terms of Use.....

The bait n switch was a joke....

But my point still remains. Why don't these people move their crap to the flood? (or the Halo 2 & 3 sections, etc...)

You people have just sent my sides into orbit. A bunch of MLG try hards sucking the dick of some supposed pro half the thread hasn't even heard of. Classic.

Many new members post their first because it is at the top of the list. I think it is because they see that it says Bungie General and just assume that is where they need to go.

Maybe if that was changed? I think bungie general sounds too...inviting. Like talk about whatever. Try to make the rules more apparent, is all I'm saying...

As I said, if only one could forcefully get all the members to read the code of conduct, stickies, and the terms of use. Say, when one first becomes a member, they must read through these, then have a short multiple choice quiz before one may post. Yes, I know that this plan will get alot of criticism, but it would work. Cut down the spam at least. Then one would hardly be able to have an excuse, such as "But I didn't know!". And of course each time the quiz would change.

You want to know what it'd be like to have no moderators on this site? Try this easy to prepare simulation.
Step 1: Procure yourself an intact box, something a fridge or similarly large appliance.
Step 2: Fill cardboard box halfway with feral cats. One or two should be rabid.
Step 3: Climb inside the box, closing the top behind you.
Step 4: Begin screaming and thrashing wildly at the cats.

How could the quiz change every time? Many members join all the time so there would have to be thousands of quiz variations.

That is the point. The reason why it would change is so it would delay spammers from spamming with and Alternate account.

Old school Bungie, born and raised,
In the Septagon is where I spend most of my days.
Relaxin', maxin', posting all cool,
Talking about Halo, life and some school.
Got in one little argument, and the mods got scared,
they said "You're gonna get banned and your member title'll be bare!"

I believe it should be like such:

The Underground: Discussion of 'business end' of Bungie

The Septegon: Discussion about Bungie.net and the Seventh Column

Everything else is pretty obvious... Though "Halo 3" should be renamed to something that sticks with the story, much like "New Mombasa...

It won't really matter what is put there. There was a sticky that said THIS IS NOT A HALO BOARD there for ages that no one paid attention to. You could've changed it to "POST HALO TOPICS HERE AND SKIP WEASEL WILL COME TO YOUR HOUSE AND BEAT YOU SENSELESS WITH A SOCK FULL OF QUARTERS," and people will still post there Halo topics there.

I tried blacklisting on sight for a while, and even that didn't work.

Much as how you see Halo and clan invite threads here in the Septagon, so too is the fate of the Underground. People don't post there because they think it's a Halo forum. People post there because they don't actually bother to make sure if it is or not.

A giant flash popup which quite thoroughly beats into their heads what the forum is for might work.

Might.

Like for the underground, have one pop up when you hit submit that says. THIS IS NOT A HALO BOARD. Once they hit Ok then sends them back to the typing screen.
If they still submit it to the wrong forum, they have got to be stupid, or hell-bent on posting in thw wrong place.

OR maybe one that says, which of the following does this topic fall under.
Option 1: Halo
Option 2: Other Bungie.

If they hit option one, they are returned to the underground homepage.

Just a thought :-)

Perhaps, then it should be more like this:

The Underground: Post in the Septagon and save us the trouble of moving your thread.

The Septagon: Put 'The Underground' out of business...

Halo 3 Forum: Decency and order be damned!

New Mombasa: Second rate threads about a game on a second rate console!

Optimatch: Post here and be ignored...

The Maw: Had its feelings hurt by this.

The Gallery: I bet you didn't know this forum existed!

The News: If your post isn't on the first page, don't even bother!

Voting Booth: Infrequent polls for the infrequent visitor...

The Classifieds: Once an active forum, now just rots in it's own excrements...

The Flood: Surprisingly regulated for a canned-meat board!

If you don't got it, you want it. If you got it, you want more of it. Of course if you don't know what it is, it's hard to get any in the first place.

^ I laughed.

I the Underground needs to be moved away from the ambiguous Bungie general. I odn't know how it would be said, but the Underground needs a clear message that "We're about Bungie talk as a company on all things not related to Halo, and we're a place to talk about all the cool stuff from a Bungie game all the Halo players are too lame to remember. Remember," Lets move, they're right behind us."

Septagon: Talk about the website, and the fan community. No, we're serious.

I think the problem lies in a lack of a 'Halo General' thread. Most of the locked topics in The Underground (asides from spam/rule breakers) are there because the original poster had no idea where else it could go. I think a 'Halo General' forum would solve this problem. That, and change The Underground's description to 'Bungie Oldskool'.
