I created a group on bungie and made up a lot of differnt ranks. But one is the one where people view at.I say we should be able to edit the nonmeber thing and let them post in the fourm.well I see bungies pointe when the made that up but they should ad least be able to look at it.

Why the hell are you looking at this? Get out.

And no group invites, you jerk. I'm not interested.

Eh. Tough decision. On one hand, you could have a totally public forum but on the other you'd have a totally secret forum.

You people have just sent my sides into orbit. A bunch of MLG try hards sucking the dick of some supposed pro half the thread hasn't even heard of. Classic.

Maybe make it an option for the group founder to turn on and off. I know that if we had that you guys would be able to see what goes on in HFCS and we can't have that now.

Yeah, that's the only way it'd work. I'd like to have that option.

No because people could steal your info when they aren't in the group.

This idea has been brought up many a time.

And, like all other times, someone suggests that it would have to be the founder's choice, then everyone agrees, then someone makes a joke/insult that the next poster follows up on until BoBbq locks the thread for degrading into off topic nonsense.

^that's the same as saying I agree with achilles.

Awww. DARN! I guess an option would be pretty cool, but I don't really see a point. Groups are basically meant to be private... so... :P

2:10 And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.
2:11 And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:
2:12 That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.

There should be an option.

Hellz no.

Private groups.
Public forums.

It's rahter silly to even have an option in my opinion. We shouldn't give non-members so many privilages. They gert to see teh main forums, which is more than enough. They don't need to see something private.

In my opinion.

KOTOR | The WarriorsI'll chain you to the truth for the truth shall set you free
I'll turn the screws of vengeance and bury you with honesty
I'll make all your dreams come to life, then slay them as quickly as they came

Maybe give the option to view particular threads. That'd work out the best.

For an active group that could be damned difficult. Especially if the admins want a specific lid kept on their forum.

I'm always in favor of more options. I like this idea.

I don't know how often it would be used or abused though. We can't edit bad content on the private forums.

Well that's why groups have their own ninjas.

  • 01.28.2007 3:07 PM PDT

If you don't got it, you want it. If you got it, you want more of it. Of course if you don't know what it is, it's hard to get any in the first place.

The whole point of being in a group is to participate in it's closed discussion. To have closely moderated, personal discussions that would either erupt in flame wars on the rest of this website, or would have the wrong people misinterpret the meaning of the author.

Why would you want someone reading your special forum anyway?

Indeed. But if the ninjas or admins in the chapters wanted to also break the rules, there wouldn't be much to stop them.
I'm just a little worried about some mischievous users linking to bad chapter content in their sigs or other forum posts. It could be easily abused. We might have to hand out more BLs, and it would require a lot of extra attention.

Just playing devil's advocate.

And playing it well- I honeslty think your one point about adult/offensive content is enough to shut down this idea. Since no one but Achronos currently weilds power all across the site there would be no way to stop such things right now.

I'm not going to vote on this one.

The reason is simple. If the thread maker chooses to allow public to view it okay. But on the other hand, if it's chosen to not be publicly viewed, so be it.

Also, the admin should be able to change who it's viewed by.
