UPDATE 17: for thoes who think SE's dead
Update #17 - Halo SE Introduced... uh, Reintroduced (PART 1)
You see, today, I just realized that because of the whole deleting-the-past-site thing, hardly any of the old Halo SE fans actually believe in it anymore. So I thought I'd take this time to reintroduce Halo SE. For those who don't know what this thing is, this update will tell you all about Halo SE. For those who do, prepare to be filled in on a whole lotta new information.
Here we go...
*teeny-bopper voice* OK, like, heeeeey, my name is car15, and I, like, made up this mod thing called, like, Halo Special Edition, or as I like to call it, Halo SE. Isn't that just fab? Hahaha! *quits teeny-bopper voice* Just kidding guys. Seriously though, Halo SE is a full-scale mod for Halo PC and Halo CE. In Halo PC, we mod the UI (user interface) and add to the singleplayer. The multiplayer is completely changed so that it is now... take a deep breath, guys... CO-OP! Yeah, I know there's an issue with the lag due to all the AI, but we're working on a solution to that. I don't want to give away exactly how we plan to do it, but the AI will only be operative on one computer, and the others just read off that computer to tell where the AI is. Because the AI is only on one comp, the lag will be considerably reduced. There is still some, however, and we're brainstorming ways to furthur remove that lag. Halo CE is completely devoted to multiplayer. Now, lets get to the specifics. On some levels (some) you'll see an About section that tells you about it. It's cool.
MC Singleplayer Missions:
Rebels (Developer - car15) [Production Status: We have an untextured Alpha map complete, and are currently inserting the AI.]
Sigma Octanus IV (Developer - car15, TheKingOfBattle, and anyone else who wants to volunteer ) [Production Status: This is a biggie, and I've only got the beginning entrance to the city completed, but with no AI. This, by far, will be the biggest level and the most complicated to design. Oh yeah, the rest isn't even thought out yet. I released a text preview earlier on about this.]
Reach (Developer - car15) [Production Status: On Paper]
The Pillar of Autumn (Developer - Bungie) [About: The level is the same as it was in the original game, except there is no tutorial for any difficulty and the Salamanders {along with their Grav Rifles} are dropped in at various points] [Production Status: Not much needs to be done, so the status isn't really an issue... but I'd say its in Alpha]
Halo (Developer - Bungie {source material}, car15) [About: This level is an extended version of the first part of the level Halo from the original game. It stops right before you meet the first team of Marine survivors. Expect to see your first Brute, Salamanders, and maybe even a Particle Freezer.] [Production Status: On Paper, some is mapped in 3DS Max.]
The Search for Survivors (Developer - Bungie, car15) [About: This is the rest of the original level Halo, with new weapons, the Ghost, and Salamanders.] [Production Status: Mostly mapped in 3DS Max.]
The Truth and Reconciliation (Developer - Bungie, car15) [Production Status: Besides new weapons and enemies I'll insert, it's been done since Halo's release.]
The Silent Cartographer (Develeper - Bungie, car15, inspiration drawn from Gearbox's Death Island at parts) [Production Status: The interior of the island is the same, so that's in final form, but the revamped island is still just on paper]
Assault on the Control Room (Developer - Bungie, car15) [Production Status: Pretty much the same except for new weapons and a stare-you-in-the-face cornucopia of chances to use the Cannon Warthog.]
343 Guilty Spark (Developer - Bungie, car15) [Production Status: Bungie's genius in this level is untampered with... except for the {you guessed it} addition of a new weapon, the SMG, which is a Flood fave now.]
The Library (Developer - Bungie, car15) [About: The Library is so much frickin' shorter than it was in Halo 1, plus less tedious.] [Production Status: All three levels are finished... yep, I said all THREE... and this time, not only are there only three, but they are actually different... to think, DIVERSITY in The Library!]
Two Betrayals (Developer - Bungie, car15) [Production Status: As usual, I've found a way to squeeze in some of those weapons of mine... otherwise it's the same... so this level is actually finished!]
Keyes (Developer - Bungie, car15) [About: Watch for the skull hidden early in the level!] [Production Status: On Paper]
The Maw (Developer - Bungie, car15) [About: New weapons, enemies, vehicles. A bit of redesigning. New destroyed PoA skins. Watch for the Marathon logo hidden on the bridge.] [Production Status: Entirely in my mind. This level hasn't been statistically mapped out in any way yet, this includes paper. Go ahead and sue me. *cowers in fear* I was just joking, Mr. Lawyer. I have a mortal fear of lawyers...]
The Ascendant Justice (Developer - car15) [About: Read First Strike and you'll know.] [Production Status: Mapped in 3DS Max.]
Return to Reach (Developer - car15) [About: Read First Strike and you'll know.] [Production Status: On Paper]
Eridanus Secundus (Developer - car15) [About: Read First Strike and you'll know.] [Production Status: On Paper]
The Hangar (Developer - car15, TheKingOfBattle) [About: Read First Strike and you'll know.] [Production Status: On Paper]
First Strike (Developer - car15, TheKingOfBattle) [About: Read First Strike and you'll know.] [Production Status: On Paper, but TKOB claims he's actually skipping the 3DS mapping phase and is designing the map file now. $5 says he's full of it. OK, maybe $3.]
The Core (Developer - car15) [Production Status: On Paper]
New Mombasa (Developer - car15, Kneeboarder, TheKingOfBattle, Bungie {E3 Demo}) [Production Status: E3 Demo obviously done, this level On Paper and in detailed scripted form on my comp... but no map file or 3DS mapping done yet.]
Chicago (Developer - car15) [Production Status: Parts finished, and the rest is in development right now.]
The Remains of the Narcissa (Developer - car15) [Production Status: On Paper]
Station Alpha (Developer - car15) [Production Status: Mapped in 3DS Max.]
The Watchful Attacker (Developer - car15) [Production Status: On Paper]
Elite Singleplayer Missions:
Lifepods (Developer - car15) [Production Stage: On Paper]
The Capture of Keyes (Developer - car15) [Production Stage: One part has been mapped out in 3DS Max, the rest is On Paper]
Disposal of the Demon (Developers - Bungie {because its basically AotCR backwards as an Elite... basically}, car15) [Production Stage: AotCR is complete obviously, this level is On Paper]
The Human Base (Developer - car15, TheKingOfBattle) [About: The aliens raid the human makeshift base on Halo 04. You assist them. A massive outdoor environment spanning three mountains and a plateau which houses the base. The base is an amazing 4-story building with about 45 rooms total. Your mission: Fight your way into the base and capture Major Silva. Then force him into a Covenant Dropship and escape. The destruction of the base is another unit's problem, not yours. Don't concern yourself with killing every last human you see.] [Production Stage: Scattered rooms and outdoor areas mapped out in 3DS Max, the rest is either On Paper or not thought out yet]
The Aftermath (Developer - car15, TheKingOfBattle) [Production Stage: Our source material has been complete for some time now, and once this thing comes out you'll know what we mean... but the actual level is still On Paper, however Kneeboarder's skins are finished]
Raid on the Inca (Developer - none yet) [Production Stage: We have not even designed this level on paper yet, but the story {like with all other levels} is fully complete and paved out]
