Heyyo,
Heh, sry I diddn't jump on the beta-testing bandwagon, lately I seem to have been missing this thread... sometimes it only shows 4 threads a page... dunno why...
Anywho, for HaloPC and the Halo Demo versions, why don't you make something like a batch file that renames the files to like, the needed maps and then starts halo, and then reverts back to the norm filenames? I'd make life easier for people who are afraid to do it manually. ;)
for example, your maps folder could be named "mapsse" and then once you wanna play HaloSE, the batch file would rename the current "maps" folder to something like "mapsx" and rename the "mapsse" to "maps" and bam, your mod's loaded, and the original map files are still intact, backed up inna separate file. Then just create another batch file, or expand on the first one that just does the opposite. ;)
If more than just folders need to be renamed, you can do it by files too, more tedious, but whatever. I hope my little bit of insight will help you make your mod more user friendly. :)
As for removing cutscenes, totally understandable, they did it for the Serious Sam series (GREAT coop game, check it out if you havn't) and cutscenes would be a little annoying on coop, some might wanna skip, whilst others wanna watch. So if anyone starts lippin' off aboot missing cutscenes? tell them to just do the SP campaign. ;)
Good luck on beta-testing ace, just remember to keep an eye open for any graphical/gameplay errors. I already noticed one in that Zanzibar map, if you leap off the top, and look at the rock, 2 big polygons go missing for a few seconds. ;)
