Is there any way to do it besides pressing B L B?

Well, is there any other way to melee twice by throwing a grenade between whacks?

I sure don't think so, personally I whack, back off/crouch/sidestep, and then whack again for a quick victory

I have seen Halo 1 montages, where the person double-melees, and I'm pretty sure he doesn't throw a grenade in between. I could be mistaken though, however.

You never know, it could've been modded. The amount of modding with Halo CE is incredible; I should know, because I've done a fair amount of it myself. But on legit terms, I don't think there is. You could always spend a day trying to find a new way?

yet again, I believe the whack in the back is the best attempt. Of course there are other instant deaths: falling whack A=player 1 falls onto player 2 while whacking; falling whack B=player 2 attempts to do falling whack A to player 1, player 2 whacks player 1 while player 2 falls; Duel falling whack=both players whack eachother mid air (both die). For even more fun you and your super psycho friends can give each whack type a point amount and do a game of wizard whacking only.

That's because they're smart enough to dodge the grenades and jump out of the way to prevent collateral damage.
