Wow racist too, who would have guessed. By the way 'pal', Colour, is from the Commonwealth, but the American form is a bastardized form, dropping the U.

It isn't Canadian, it's proper English.

Off course, you flame someone incorrectly. Then, when someone corrects you you tell them to lay off; you're an -blam!-.

Actually, the development of the discrepancy is an interesting subject. The reason so many words are spelt differently in the US and the Commonwealth is mainly due to time. When America was first colonised, there was no "standard" version of English, since dictionaries didn't exist. Both "colour" and "color" were considered correct. In America they adopted the "color" spelling. It probably also had something to do with the revolution, as a lot of English customs were changed in America (eg. Americans drive on the right hand side of the road), as a rejection of the monarchy. By the time England was expanding the Empire to Australia and other places, "colour" had become the accepted standard.

As for pronunciation, though, to pronounce "lieutenant" as "lootenant", and "clerk" phonetically is just plain wrong. "Zee" is wrong as well.

Oh, and I spell it "colour", since I'm in Australia and because I'm too cool for you.

Exactly the same here. Hey and could you change 'England' to 'Britain' because i get pissed of people saying stuff like ' a English Aston Martin DB9 ' when they are also made in Scotland and Wales.

P.S to goweb: What did twitch say?

That is how English is meant to be spelt. If I talk about my counrty I say Britain. I was born in wales, my parents are English and my Grandfather is Irish. That makes me like A quarter Irish 3 quarters englishman born in Wales. Woo

Same. I'm simply too lazy to add a "u".

Which is quite strange, as I do take the time to spell everything else properly, and make sure my typing is up to par. I'm... weird.

you spell color as color, not colour. You also spell vote as vote, not veauxte, and you spell pie as pie, not piepie. And the word the is spelled the, not thah, just in case you had any other RETARDED QUESTIONS.
