People may think i'm crazy but since the first time i played Halo CE through proper i have never seen anything that, in cinematic terms, equals the hunter battle on the transport pad to the ships belly. Without a doubt the most beautiful scenery seen in the games long sequences can be seen whilst two people attack the hunters in tandem as they wait in the centre of the pad and ply them with plasma, liberally for better effect. The night sky, dark purples and brown tones and the plasme reflecting off the shields into the sunset is probably the most aesthetically satisfying thing that i have ever seen in a game. It was one of the most disappointing changes to the hunters in the second game, how come their shields just absorbed plasma...what a sell out! I hope their are other people out there who share a similar satisfaction in bouncing plasma of shields!

I LOVE the first time you see the Hunters in Halo 1. The music, the atmosphere. Perfect.

I enjoy the fact that hunters can be punched out in Halo CE, where with Halo 2, they are invulnerable to melee. I never feel the satisfaction of boxing hunters anymore, but am forced to kill them with bullets. It makes me feel like a coward.

Depending on the context CE can mean custom edition or combat evolved. In this case I believe he's referring to Halo for the Xbox.

Yeah I think he means the Xbox version.

However have a look around for the CMT Single Player mod. THat is an EPIC modification of the SP maps. I mean come one. Spartan allies with BR's that have Nade launchers on the bottom? WOO HOO!

Call me nuts, but they have a pretty awesome introduction in both games.

i really dont like the having the nade launcher on the bottom of the br. What I love about halo, is that every weapon has one and only one perpose. I i think it should be a separate weapon that holds 6 rounds. check out my topic on "What type of weapons do you want in halo 3"

Was it hard to see that? I mean, it's called Halo Combat Evolved on the cover of the game that you buy... :)

There is no grenade launcher nor a battle rifle in Halo. You must be referring to the CMT campaign.

I couldn't have said it better myself! I know EXACTLY what you mean. But it isn't just the hunters. The entire 1st part of the level before you get in the cruser feels like that. I think it may have something to do with how the beggining part of that level was from an earlyer time when bungie was thinking of haveing halo be more of a stelth game. Thus the sniper rifle. But I too love the feeling of being out in the still summer air(or was it fall. There is a tree with no leaves) on the edge of a cliff looking out opon the rest of the universe in the futer fighting aliens that came from lightyears away as you did to this anciant mysterious righ world were you feel odly at home.

You've obviously never played Half Life.

As for half life or half life 2, they are both infirior to halo 1. In halo 1, you never feel like you're alone. weather it's your frends, your enimies, your weapons, or just the grass you wank on, you are never alone. In half life you feel as if you're all by yourself and that, even though you've come a long way, you still have miles to go. Both half life and half life 2 feel way to long. I spawn in the beggining and think to myself "wait. Why do I want to go through this again? I'm just going to go there, kill some waiting enimies, go further, kill some more enimies waiting for me, solve some physics puzzle, and do it all again. Sure the graphics arn't good but "If you can't nail those 10 seconds when you through a nad into a group of enimies, charge an Elite waiting around a corner, and clean up the stranglers, your just not going to have a good game." Half life did not nail those 10 seconds.

Sorry for typing so much. I just love T&R so much!!

The T@R is probably the hardest level in the game on legendary, for tips, make sure to remember that, when in the ship, be sure to remember when the covenant try to ambush you from behind, while attacking at the front, go back, make sure to have plently of nades, then after killing the group of covies from behind, carefully kill the ones coming up to you.

And as for the beginning when you enter the ship, try to keep your plasma nades conserved for any possible zealots, seeing as how the raids are random, and be sure to use your regular nades when you can against the jackals. It's possilbe to keep your marines alive for a while, that is, until the hunters show up...........

Do you know what infirior means? It means "sucks compared to".

People, the word you are looking for is "inferior". It's no that hard to write.

I made it through T & R Legendary after much cursing a small trillion restarts and sacrefices of defenceless Marines... Finally, every level has three difficulty logo's under it.

I have to say I thought Halo knocked the crap out of half-life for this kind of thing, ie epic-ness, atmosphere, emotion. Half life was technically amazing, but for me halo has much more soul.

That's your opinion, but it's not like Half Life wasn't a masterpiece. Those fifty Game of the Year awards aren't for collecting dust, you know. Like Half Life didn't have atmosphere and emotion? A stellar storyline?

The Flood = Wannabe headcrabs and zombies.

I just think that Halo doesn't nearly deserve as much respect or credit as Half Life does. No offense to Bungie.

I repeat, sing along with me, I run the streets the streets don't run me.

You have to let the Covenant take on the Flood for you. They have a better chance against them. They have fuel rods and all. When the Covenant forces die of the sea of Flood, run away and just remember to keep ahead
