Now, if vehicles are capable of getting real time damage, is it possible to give this feature to character models. I don't mod so I wouldn't know, but it would be a cool feature. So, anyone who DOES mod, can ya' do it?

I don't know much about modding, but I don't think what you propose is as possible as you think it might be.

Yes, but it won't sync online. CMT had it planned for the origanal SP maps, but we dropped it since your amrour would be fixed at the begining of each mission.

The few, the proud, the leet.

It should sync online for H2V. If not, they've done some crazy things to the engine.

I think there is something akin to armor damage in Halo, it's very, VERY hard to notice though. I first noticed it a while ago when I shot my buddy and there was a little black mark on his armor where the bullet hit.

No, its akin to shooting the flood and their arms falling off. Regional damage is possible for any gbxmodel, but it won't sync online.

decals only work on bsp, antything with a gbxmodel won't show them.

Think about what you're saying, though. You want an integral component of the Halo 2 engine to run on the antiquidated Halo 1 engine?

Bipeds are different to vehicle models. And it'll probably cause too much lag if it was included, especially to carry all those specific bullet holes (etc) in the biped. Also, the way it's done in Halo 2 is that parts of the vehicle break off, which is perfectly fine and simple for devs like Bungie. But imagine parts of Masterchief breaking off. Not very Halo-ish, and also remember the fact about MC never to be revealed outside his armour.

Heehee. Can you imagine MC with his armor falling off every time he got hit? I mean, imagine MC running around in his undies with only his helmet on...

Nobody wants Master Chief's arms to be blown off; Halo isn't that much for gore. We just want to see plasma burns, the scars of war and battle, and the elements effects on his armor.

There isn't much difference between a biped and a vehicle model if any. You can still have pieces fall off the MC without his arm falling off.

Frankie pointed it out on the MC's armor in the H3 announce trailer .

There will be real time damage on the character models.

And I think this quesiton would be better asked after we all can get our hands on H2V and the H2EK.
