So I was just messing around on Halo the other day, shotting and beating already dead enemies, and I noticed that when you shoot`something using a pistol, that after you shoot, there is a little explosion where you shot. I found this interesting and was wondering if this had any effect on the enemies or if it was just for looks.

According to the manual the pistol fires explosive rounds so I always assumed that's what the flash represented. It somewhat explains why the pistol is so powerful.

wasn't much different, it actually might not have had explosive rounds, I don't really remember. It was a while ago at a memorial day event at a shooting range, all the class three arms dealers got together and rented fully-automatic weapons out for anyone to shoot! They had M-16s MP-5s, a bowling bowl cannon, and other stuff. Probably the best part though was the finale where they filled cars with dynamite and gasoline then shot them up.

Doubt it.

I always assumed that it was a glitch, used to give a little delay from your shot to the impact on far objects. I assumed that for some reason the delay was set the same for near objects, as some kind of oversight.

It does that with every weapon for me...But only on the Flood for some reason, I've never seen it happen on a Covenant or Human soldier.

Now that I've carefully reread what you said; you've never noticed this before!?

It does it for anything for me, but I first noticed it with a flood. On Two Betrayals, when you get the RL.

Nah, I dont really make it a point to zoom in on dead enemies then shoot them, just to see what happens.
