I don't, but I'm going to get it. Anyone else? I think Live Anywhere will be sweet because its like a mobile xbox 360 (kicks psp and the ds's asses, haha). Just go to like a Penara Bread place or whatever, and play games against your friends like that. Unfotunatly, its projected that Live AnyWhere will not be out until late this summer (most likley due to the fact not a lot of people will actualy have Vista until then). It will be like having an xbox and your pc fused... actualy, that is what is is! Also, its a chance to get the Xbox experience without getting the Xbox! Vista, from the things I've seen, looks very nice, but won't be life threatening to get unless you need it for your workplace, or there is a certain program you need that is Vista-Only. The vista program is about $100 less than PC Gamers Magazine predicted, which is very nice. I am very jelous of people who are about to buy a new PC because they get it for free with the computer!

I got vista business for free, and so far it's nice except the lack of support such as drivers and software.

You can always get the Upgrade Edition for cheaper.

I'll probably get Home Premium, or possibly Ultimate if I feel the need to not get a newer video card and/or RAM.

I wouldn't advise getting Vista just now. Right now, there is a known lack of support for the new OS, as well as countless unknown flaws and bugs that have yet to be discovered. Keep in mind that this is a flaw common to any and all new OSs when they are first released, and not particular to Microsoft or to Vista.

Wait for a year...by that time, not only will all the bugs and kinks have been ironed out, but the OS will probably drop in cost.

yeah, I can get it for free if i wait a year, also, I won't even really need to get it until H2V, Bio Shock, and Live AnyWhere comes out. =P

Holy -blam!-, its like $500 for the office on best buy! (a lot less walmart lol)
yet another question, when I instal Vista, it will get rid of all of my programs right? (e.g. my C disk/drive type thing will be empty? so there realy is no point in putting that in the system requirements? lol)

Yes, in addition to addressing issues, patching bugs, optimizing performance, etc., better hardware will be released and the Games for Windows titles will start coming in stores during the wait.

Wait, Vista erases all your files when you install it?!?! Oh geez...

  • 01.31.2007 4:08 PM PDT

Get Marathon Here
Get Marathon 2 and Infinity Here

No it doesn't, it crams everything on your hard drive into an "Windows_Old" file or something along those lines, so all your data etc. is saved, but your old programs won't work, you will have to re-install.

Create a new partition and install it on there and dual boot XP and Vista. OR you can use another harddrive in place of the other partition.

Why Ultimate edition? All you're gonna do is look at pr0n. Or maybe you prefer pr0n, the Windows Vista Ultimate Upgrade pr0n.

Also the AR is actually good in CQB now and no longer a glorified baseball bat.

I got it installed and up yesterday. I'm lovin' it.

  • 01.31.2007 7:16 PM PDT

What it is.

i got it installed yesterday as well...works swell like RC1 did, the only problem i have had so far is something with Nvidia's drivers. When i set the power options to turn the monitor off after a certain amount of time, when i come back to the screen, it's all distorted and un-viewable kinda forcing a restart...but all is well besides that...

I think you are foolish to get a new OS within 2 years of it being out.
