Hello Bungie peoples, I recently entertained the idea of starting my own group, about Halo, sports, MLG, or anything else. I was wondering, do any of you have experience with this, and could help me learn how to recruit and any tips to making a good group?

Post a link in your sig is also a good idea.

Post a Classifieds thread.

And last but not least, invite your friends, then tell them to invite theirs and so on.

Also, if you want to keep people coming back, try to put in there content that's unique to your group. Like a weekly poll, which one in one of my groups is called the "Loser of the week" poll. We all have a good time with that besides the fact that the same person wins every week... that loser.

Terrific ideas. Those alone can get you dozens of members.

I have some influential friends on this site too. This might turn out promising.

Be dedicated and before you start recruiting alot of members make sure your group has lots of content and discussion starters to make people want to stay. Remember there are a million "general talk about whatever" groups out there so make your group about something specific but not to specific that it turns away potential members.

Also regular contests are really good for activity and they're fun. I already said it but I'll say it again. It is paramount to your groups sucess that you be a dedicated and very active leader, willing put some time into your group to make it a sucess.

It is being made as I speak, it is by member queue for now, so you, me, Recoil, and Mattbluhalofan can add content.

Also, respond to my PM about Names.
