I'm wondering if with vista I can log in with my .net passport and be seen as online by a 360 user. Will the same xbox live fees apply to vista gaming?

Thanks in advance.

You mean seen online when you login to windows? Then no.
There won't be any fees.

I'm assuming you're referring to Live Anywhere, which doesn't launch with Vista. I think.

Get Marathon Here
Get Marathon 2 and Infinity Here

Log on where with your .net passport? Bungie.net? Live Anywhere?

And no, Vista gaming will not have fees, perhaps Live Anywhere will have a fee schedule the same as XBox Live (with a free level, and a pay level), but each game will still have it's own Multiplayer element the same as always that works over the internet.

Also the AR is actually good in CQB now and no longer a glorified baseball bat.

Live Anywhere isn't out yet, so nobody can answer your question yet.

As of right now your .net passport will work the same on Vista as it does on XP. My understanding of Live Anywhere is that it will only be available for XBL subscribers, therefore there will be no extra "fee", and can be accessed from anywhere (hence live anywhere).

It is people like you that make people like me need medication.

Exactly. Live anywhere will require a live subscription. However it won't require a seperate one.

So if you have an Xbox Live subscription it will work. If you don't you will have to pay the fee and subscribe to live to use it. I haven't seen anything about how signing up will be handled on the PC yet.

Also from what I have read the live anywhere software is on the games themselves. so you will only be logged in when on the actual game. Of course this can change and I wouldn't doubt if MS down the road changed that.

AFAIK, you can have a silver LA subscription also which doesn't cost anything, and you can still play online in H2V for free. Gold just gives you more benefits.

Also, I believe that LA is a part of Vista itself, as shown in the CES demo.

Don't blame us just because we can afford fifty bucks a year for a prime online service.

I hope it isn't that big of a deal, because people will still get to play online without paying an extra cent. And we don't need to pay for an Xbox Live Marketplace-like service, because we can already (purchase and) download videos, demos, arcade games, game content, etc. online with just the internet connection that we have.

I don't think you'll be able to play across platforms with a silver account, only gold.

Not in H2V, but in some games, like Shadowrun, you can.
