No... Sure the average I.Q. in here (Bungie overall. The Septagon is friggin' one-fifty) is probably damn low, but people look at all poll options. It's not like they vote the first things they see; polls are fun to choose, not do the actual voting.

To me anyway?

I once voted "ham" in a poll concerning modders in matchmaking.

And what was the question mark?

Uncertainty.

Have either of you ever taken it into consideration?

Indeed I have impurity. And as I stated above, I don't believe that that is what one would do. But then again I believe the world may be a perfect world :P

Haha. The plight. There is no solution. Topic creators have more absolution than anyone clicking their choice could imagine.

Edit: Sorry if I seem to be at a conclusion. I always start off threads with an ultimate opinion.

Heh, honestly impurtiy, I had too look up what plight means. At first I thought you were insulting me. But now I understand what you mean. And I do agree, in some ways; because I am still trying figure out what the last half meants; before the edit. :P

Well it's in a "modders" thread. We used to get them daily. What does that have to do with placement?

Don't blame me, I voted for Kodos.

That's a good band...

But I would say that often times people put the major choices at the top of the list and less important or silly choices lower down, so I'd bet that there's a minor effect on people's voting choices that depends on the placement of each option.

Retarded people like making a big deal out of minor things. 99.9% Bungie's polls market directly to the retarded masses...why else would you have "lol interwebz" as a possible choice in a poll on your favorite game, or 7 options for a yes-or-no question?

Why is this titled Schizophrenia... I fail to see the relation. Just wondering.

Yeah... he has this thing about originality.

EDIT: To be honest, I just now noticed it was called Schizophrenia, I guess that's why I clicked it though. I was probably like "WHOA! They discovered a new long lost continent!"

What do you think? I'm totally serious.

Yes, of course it does. There will always be a percentage of people who will vote without reading the post, therefore the placement of the answer will influence the results.

Oh, by the way "Steve", the voices don't like you.

Good to see at least somebody takes this place seriously

I am sincerely disappointed in everyone except JIMH. JIMH, have a gold star.

',:\ IF YA SAHMELLLL

It makes a big difference if you are in a hurry. For instance the first choice might be "Yes", and you vote for it without realizing that there is a "hellz yes111" later down the list. Now you have voiced approval in only a moderate amount when in actuality you might feel adamant about the subject.

For these reasons, I treat poll questions the same a standardized test question. I make sure to read every choice, hoping to find "Crazy Third Option" or the equivalent because it is my personal policy to always vote that way. Other people may not choose to do so, but I feel it is nessessary to warp the results as much as possible.

Remember that the poll questions are just for fun. No one ever takes the results seriously, and there has never been poll results that have enlightened anyone or changed an opinion on a subject.

I was planning a Custom Edition map called Schizophrenia a while ago. Creepy. Impy, are you an internet psychic?

And I don't think the poll option's location affects the votes, I think the poller's opinion of the option affects where they put it, even subconsciously.
Because people are generally able to guess how popular an particular option will be (again, even subconsciously), this makes it seem as if the position affects popularity, when it is, in fact, the other way around.

Oh, and I voted ?.

Only Becausae I'm Awesome

I'm sure the majority would be persuaded to vote for an option that says "Coke is Awesome" over any other option there.

Only because i'm awesome though.

I picked ? only cause I was confused and I related the ? to confusion.

Interesting theory though. You should have made them say all the same thing, like Yes, mmhmm, and of course.

To some degree; yes. I'll usually pick the first choice that appeals to me rather than reading them all over. However, I don't think it's that big of a deal.

You people have just sent my sides into orbit. A bunch of MLG try hards sucking the dick of some supposed pro half the thread hasn't even heard of. Classic.

I never thought about it before. I could see it having some impact on poll results though but not enough to really make a difference.

Heck though. What do I know? I am just simple man that thought this thread was about the voices I hear in my head everyday.

I remember when I used this space to put cool looking links to my chapters back in the day. I don't even know why I'm using it now. Why are you even reading this? You must be interested in me. Still reading?

Yo Halo53, I'm real happy for you and I'ma let you finish, but Beyonce had one of the best bungie.net profiles of all time. OF ALL TIME!

If you're someone who is THAT impatient that you see the first answer and you say "I can not possibly waste the next 30 SECONDS of my life reading the rest of the choices and instead of just not participating in the poll Im going to CHOOSE THE FIRST ANSWER" then your opinion isn't worth hearing. The order of choices has never had an effect on my decision but I'm sure at some point somewhere in time, someone changed their answer because of the order of choices

  • 02.03.2007 12:13 PM PDT

The placement of answers to a poll question do not matter to me. In fact, any poll worth it's salt would give it's audience complex answers to choose from. Therefore making it imperative to read carefully each and every choice.

If the poll question has a simple yes or no answer, is it really worth replying to in the first place?

That's a rhetorical question. No poll needed.
