So, I installed vista business 32 bit and everything has been going OK. Nothing too annoying has occurred so far except for the problem I have with Halo pc. I have a razer diamondback mouse and after I installed the razer drivers, halo pc refuses to recognize any of my mouse's buttons except left and right click. This means I can't zoom in normally >:(
Any ideas on what might fix this?

If you haven't already, I recommend going to the Razer Diamondback's website, to see if they might have a fix or an update for your problem.

Hope it works out. Damn, Razer makes some sexy peripheals.

Uninstall the drivers and use the mouse without them until Razor releases drivers that actually support Vista. The ones you installed only support XP.

Long live the MAW.

put zoom on something such as "z" if all else fails.

Yes. Alternatively, of course, pressing the mouse wheel also zooms in your weapon.

Yeah they were the XP drivers...but everything seemed to work fine lol. I could set the buttons and the sensitivity and it would work fine....just not in halo :(

Have you tried using no drivers at all. I know on my mice I never use the drivers that come with it, the ones that come with windows works fine and allows me to use all of the buttons. I have 32bit vista business as well and I can use all of the buttons on my mx518 just fine with the windows drivers.

And this is a great reason to wait for Vista SP1, until you actually buy it.

Correct. I'd give it about a year or so.

Yes, or you could disable the Windows key. And then there's reconfiguring the zoom button for a different key besides Z, but that was what you were trying to say.

I'm sick and tired of you people bashing vista when you don't even know whats going on. Razor's drivers being incompatible with Vista has nothing to do with a service pack or an update from microsoft. Razor is the one who needs to release an update for their mouse. You guys all act like your some sort of PC guru, and if you then you should be able to install vista, and run it without too many problems, regardless of how new it is. I've had vista ultimate since the 30th, and currently there are no problems that I haven't been able to fix. Even hardware lacking driver support will still function, and that is not microsoft's fault that 3rd party developers dont have drivers available. Cut microsoft some slack.

Let there be CHAOS!

Lol, "sigh....another vista problem". I don't understand why everyone is having so many "problems" and why everyone thinks Windows OSs are "buggy" when they first come out. I haven't had a single problem with Vista yet, and XP on my other computers are running without any service packs and I don't have problems with them either. What do you people do to your computers to make them "bug out" so much? ...just wondering

EDIT: Oh yeah and to answer your question: reinstall the mouse drivers, restart your computer, etc. And if Vista doesn't have driver support for that mouse, then I can see why you'd be sighing about it...
