"I pledge to punch all switches, to never shoot where I could use grenades, to admit the existence of no level except Total Carnage, to never use caps lock as my "run" key, and to never, ever, leave a single BoB alive."

2B || !2B - Why don't you look Inside the Machine?

I was sitting in a very long thread just reading as I normally do. Not that it was bothersome or very time consuming, but everytime I wanted to go to another forum I would have to scroll back up to the top of the page. Then it hit me.

I was thinking if it would be a possible idea to have a scrolling navigation bar. Where you would scroll down a page and the "Forums" navigation bar would follow you down the page. Keeping the list of Forums links right there for handy use. Not that it is really a laborious task to scroll to the top of a page. I am just a habitual person who likes to manually scroll to the top of a page using the mouse wheel. I am not implying that the website should just change to fit my needs. I think that it would just add a little ease to navigating the forums. I am sure it could help the moderators get to a forum faster.

"Whatever exists, whatever in creation exists without my knowledge exists without my consent. These anonymous creatures may seem little or nothing in the world. Yet the smallest crumb can devour us. Any smallest thing beneath yon rock out of men's knowing. Only nature can enslave man and only when the existence of each last entity is routed out and made to stand naked before him will he be properly suzerain of the earth."

Uhhh...sure, why not? Surely it won't bring about the end of civilization as we know it, right?

Frankly I prefer the "click and jump" method, by which you click the scroll bar, and shoot your mouse up quickly, taking you immediately to the top of the page. It's especially helpful in those really long threads.

*Sgt

You can also press the home button to get to the top of the page.. but if you're really crunching milliseconds trying to get between forums, it wouldn't be a bad idea :p

True. I understand that it completes the same purpose. I was just thinking that it might be a bit better? Or am I just being nit-picky?

Edit: Milliseconds are very important when you're trying to get from one epic thread to the next.

I'm going with the latter.

Besides, your finger gets a good workout when you scroll. One day people might stare in awe as you flip them the bird at the mightiness of your finger.

Well at least I have a goal in life.

Another idea that I am going to propose in this thread would be to have a tab feature when you're posting an idea. I like to tab things to make paragraphs, well, look like paragraphs.

Thoughts?

That's only because I haven't gotten to it yet.

Now that's an idea I can support with a minimal amount of joking. I desperately require a good paragraph for when I write my long treatises for the many groups I am in.

Well I find that it would provide for legible paragraphs and organization. Maybe something like "[tab]" could be used?

Everything will be gone long before me. When the first living thing was born, I was here, waiting. When the last living thing dies, my job is finished. I'll put the chairs on the tables, turn out the lights and lock the universe behind me when I leave.

Sometimes, I just click the Seventh Column sign on the nav bar at the bottom. It brings me to the home page, then I just click the forums.

Or you could just hit the "home" button.

I think that would be a bit of a problem considering the fact that that particular key seems to have a specific effect throughout the entire internet.

But perhaps allowing spaces to be used before words, and then limiting the number of spaces? I'm not quite sure how that idea might be implemented.

The Frozen Minority - The most infamous clan borne from the Seventh Column.

I agree. Nav bar should indeed be a forum index. Or a drop down box from the top nav bar...

I less than three this idea.

Mourne not your comrades who must dwell / too strong to strive -
Within each steel-bound coffin of a cell, / Buried alive;
But rather mourne the apathetic throng / The cowed, and the meek -
Who see the world’s great anguish and its wrong / And dare not speak.

I don't see what's wrong with adding another markup tag, that would add five spaces or so when you use it. I'm not sure how easy that would be to do, but it would be a nice idea.

I also like the original point of the thread.

I would like a 'Jump to Top' button on the Nav Bar. It would go in the dent above the circular symbol (currently The Septagon logo).

Achronos did mention the reworking of the site, so this obviously isn't futile; I definitely would like more of the site to follow me. This is because I am very important, the boxes and buttons on this site are more than likely unhealthily attracted to me, and they therefore should be allowed to be as close to my gaze as possible.

All jokes aside, both ideas (tab and the forums drop thingy) are fine by me.

I remember when I used this space to put cool looking links to my chapters back in the day. I don't even know why I'm using it now. Why are you even reading this? You must be interested in me. Still reading?

That is a good idea but it never hit me before. I am just starting to think about it.

Usualy I just click and hold the little scroll bar thing and move it up (which is pretty fast). Achronos is changing somethings but I think he will leave that be.
