Im going to make this very short, cam you use a CD drive (like halo pc) or is it going to need a DVD drive like games such as BattleField2142? i have a DVD drive, but it is separate from my PC. I don't really feel like buying a new optical drive just so i can play this game (buying vista itself is a bit much for some people) so i was wondering? does it need a DVD drive?

Edit: for some of the people who responded to this THE GAME IS NOT OUT YET

double edit: also, i checked gamestop's website (this is why im asking) there was a picture of the game (for pre orders) and at the top of the picture it saed PCCD so i thought it might be CD although the standard is DVD

I have a perfect solution for if you don't know if it will work or not. Try putting it in the drive and see if it works...

It will either be on a DVD or take 4-5 CDs.

I highly doubt that. It will most likely take 2 CD's, 3 tops.

In any case, it will most likely be on a DVD.

EASIEST SOLUTION:

CHECK THE BOX WHEN IT COMES OUT. IT WILL SAY DVD OR CD
IF IT SAYS CD YOU ARE FINE
IF IT SAYS DVD BUY A DVD DRIVE
BEING THAT THIS IS FOR VISTA MOST PC'S THAT RUN VISTA WILL BE NEWER AND HAVE A DVD DRIVE ALREADY

Get Marathon Here
Get Marathon 2 and Infinity Here

DVD drives arn't expensive, in fact, a lot of "DVD" drives are also CD R/W drives too, so your good to go.

And I would expect H2V to be on DVD, it's the new standard.

So? Most 'puters made in the last 3 years have more than two. Hell, I've got SIX! I've got more USB slots than I know what to do with. I got USB out the yingyang.

I'm there but, man this is really starting to sound like communism.
Long live the MAW.

best thing about Steam is that you can legally download their games as long as you got the right CD key. I got the Half Life 2 anthology not so long ago, and it was only 1 DVD disk. just went on steam, registered my CD key and got to download the games legally.
highly doubt that Halo 2 vista will have that though.

My PC has about four... yeah, two isn't enough.

Well, to continue on with the whole USB poll going on here, my computer has 4, 2 on front and 2 on back.

Now back to EatMyFeet. I suggest getting one of those drives that can read both CD AND DVD's. As an alternative, just buy a DVD drive, it's not that expensive.

From what I've been learning, CDs, are growing old, and are going to end up like floppys, DVDs can have up to like 8 GB or more of mem on one DVD, and I think H2V will be on DVD, dose any one know what type of disc Halo 2 Xbox is on, I don't have xbox, but I think what ever Halo 2 Xbox will be on, H2V will be on something just like it, but maybe better.
Blue Ray maybe?
Oh wait, that may be for Halo 3 hint hint....

Don't trust Gamestop! Aaargh! They were the idiots who keep claiming complete bull-blam!-.

Point in being: the 512 MB Memory Card for the 360:

Ars Technica: Opposable Thumbs
Remember that 512MB memory card that Microsoft was releasing? We talked about it a few days ago; let me find the link for you. Okay, there it is. Wait a minute; it's gone! That link doesn't go anywhere! It looks like GameStop may have jumped the gun and listed a product that Microsoft may not have been ready to announce or maybe didn't exist in the first place. GameStop has never been shy about putting guesstimated release dates and prices on their site and on their in-store listings, so take from that what you will.

Use your heads, people! They like to put things like this out because they stand to gain from preorders! Don't trust anyone BUT the official source!

EDIT: What Artillery there said...he's got a great point.

True that. I recall Game Informer once stating that Halo 2 was going to be a cross-platform title--that PCs and Xboxes would be able to play together. I also remember them saying that Crysis was going to be available for the 360 and the PS3.

Stupid parents let their stupid children play games that are rated M when they should be playing Big Birds Spelling Adventures

Also the AR is actually good in CQB now and no longer a glorified baseball bat.

For the person who asked, XBOX discs are DVD-9 discs.

How does caps lock make you look like a jerk? That just sounds stupid

What it is.

DVD..only makes sense, Vista was a DVD, why should there be a problem with H2V being a DVD...

Thanks, now there we go, so what makes people think that H2V is going to be on a CD, if Halo 2 Xbox came on a DVD?

Here you will need this to help you get your foot out of the back of your throat, looks llike its in there pretty deep. And what is that on your face? Egg?! *hands Kim a washcloth*

It better be DVD only and never have a cd version released. CDs need to die.
