All of you who have been following cmt progress know we have been working on the new HUD. Following the day after the first map pack release, I imediatly began work on the weapons HUD (Kudos to polar bear for fixing the alpah gradients, everyone was stumped) and finaly have got all but one complete. Here is what the HUD looks like on a normal gun.

The biggest problem with the SL, is that when a weapon uses a lens flare in it, the game places it on top of everything else, including the HUD. I haven't bothered fixing the other SL hud errors, since we may not be able to keep it since of the lens flare error.

I am open to new ideas on what to do with this, my current ideas are in the poll above.

Probably not the place for it, but I found a couple of bugs in your map pack recently. Specifically with the weapons.

The pistol and the new AR seem to lose ammo once in a while.

Example: I fired 18 rounds from the AR and there were 14 left, suddenly there were zero rounds and I reloaded and lost those 14 rounds somehow. The same thing happened to the pistol. I lost two rounds out of the clip for no apparent reason.

Also, the AR has 34 rounds, while it only displays 32 in game. I first noticed it when the amount of ammo I had in reserve decreased by 34 rounds everytime I reloaded. I also checked the gun by single firing every round and I counted 34.

And apparently there's an invisible pillar near the red team teleport exit on Coag, one of my clanmates found it today.

Just thought I'd let you know if you already didn't about some slightly annoying bugs in the maps.

I fail to see how thats a big problem. With the screenshot you provided it looks fine. But i am not a fan of the hud either way, seems too cluttered to me.

I don't see what's so wrong with the SL HUD........ Looks pretty wicked cool to me. You guys must have had a scramble trying to get a Spartan Laser put into the maps... It was only announced a month or three ago, with no pictures until teh illegal scanzorz came out.

I see a few errors in that hud,
1. How is there -325 rounds/charge in it
2. The lens Flare

My idea is that you rotate the ammo counter 90 degrees.
Have it deplete from left to right and make it just out of the over lap zone of the Laser. But besides the regular HUD, the new one looks amazing.
The Laser only does that when firing though so it wouldn't be to noticeable most of the time though. You could also try reducing the recoil of the Spartan Laser on Screen to stop just before it covers the HUD.
I really hope you guys manage to get fixed before the next multiplayer map pack and SPv2.

Even though I worked hard on fixing the weapon HUDs, that one above is so much nicer, I'm willing to throw away the last 2 weeks of work on the other one. Some stuff like the ammo bars are salvageable, so hopefully the new one won't take to long.

Masterz, don't put the new part of the HUD in the MP maps, put it in the SPV2 maps, try to keep the MP maps the same that, or go back and replace the old maps with new ones.
