I'm there but, man this is really starting to sound like communism.
Long live the MAW.

umm, buy Halo PC for one.
if you have, on your CD case's cardboard holder, there is a certain number code. put that code into the boxes where it asks you to put it in.
click next.
if it says it's invalid, try again and again.

What Program said, just be careful when entering your key

And if that doesn't work, call Microsoft Tech Support. If you have proof of purchase and whatnot, they'll give you a new key as replacement.

Look on the CD case for the CD key. If it isn't there or you don't have a CD case, go to a store and buy a legitimet copy.

I can safely assume that this guy didn't even buy the legitimate copy. But then again, I'm "assuming".

You can't safely assume something, that's why it's called an assumption to begin with... :)

Maybe he did buy the legitimate version. And maybe he's just too stupid to figure out how to input the CD-Key. Unlikely, but still possible. Judging by the way his post is worded, plus the fact that he refered to it as the "cd number thing". I'd say that is a safe bet.

There are no stupid questions. Only stupid people.

Do you guys have to always jump on people who ask simple questions and call them idiots?
That's what people usually do on these forums. It gets quite annoying too, because they think their awesome, just really shows their true, immature character.

Anyway, back on topic, look for your cd key on the back of the cardboard box your disc came in like programlog said.

I realize I can't really flame this guy. He didn't do anything wrong, and assuming he bought a legit copy, he probably doesn't realize that the CD-key is on the back of the paper sleeve.

However, at least one kitten is going down for his ignorance. :)

Kim, if you keep killing kittens, I might have to call the SPCA Animal Abuse hotline!
