All of you Halo PC goers out there are well aware of the fact that Halo PC comes in two flavors.

1. Xbox-like.
2. Cut-down (no shiny armor on Chief, Elites, Warthog, Ghost, dumbed down textures, et cetera).

Now, I've noticed that the active camo has different appearances in each of these two forms. In the Xbox-like form, it looks as though the player is made of glass. On the cut-down version, however, it just looks like the opacity of the player is toned down to about 5-10%.

So, does this cause any advantage or disadvantage based on your graphics card? Is one easier to see than the other? Discuss.

I personally like CLEAR camo. And I hate the scope blurs. That's why I configured it through targetrenderdisabled thingy-majigy.

I've used two different laptops through my years on Halo PC. The first was a now-defunct Athlon 1.6. with a generic ATI integrated, the second (my current one) is a Turion1.8 with an ATI Radeon Xpress 200M.

When playing on the old computer, camo was relatively easy to see; it gave the shock of people's lives when I'd come charging in with a shotgun and blow the head off a perfectly poised, camo'ed sniper. With my new setup, though, camo's much easier to see...it actually looks like invisibility instead of a visible outline.

In short, yes; the more powerful your GPU, the more a disadvantage you have.

I find that line to be partly misleading. You can always disable Radeon style camo, and the annoying scope blurs, easily. You get more of an "advantage", because of better/smoother FPS and all. Shadows concealing snipers, and causes them to be a hassle? Easy solution: Just turn the darn thing off in the options.

It's called active camoflauge; it's not meant to make you fully invisible, just less noticeable.

Right, but after playing on my old lappy for 2 years, it's so damned schmexy to just admire the translucency of the camo.
